I am just wondering if activation workaround for NIS 2006 will work with SystemWorks 2006?
Did anyone try it ?

drmaster: Yes, the 'feature' works for SystemWorks as well.

TheNerd: SW2006 includes the antivirus but not the firewall.

I have heard that this release has messed up a few peoples windows.
Not sure though, anyone know anymore about it?

There is phone activation for retail version.
Apparently, phone activation workaround works with every norton 2006 retail version.

Anyways,
I ran Symantec.Norton.SystemWorks.2006-HOTiSO with daemon tool and when I try to open the cd, I get "Open With" windows. I actually have to right click > explore > and find a setup file to run set up. Is it me? or?? Confused

Other than that installed fine and works fine.

While i would not have put it quite like that Laughing He does have a point.. Norton products are notorious for Taking over your system.. and being nigh on impossible to actually uninstall (unless you are good with the registry and/or like reinstalling your OS from scratch)

I really would look out for alternatives to any Norton product before you decide to install it

regarding NIS2005 (which i was using for the past year) im very pleased with it,and it served me really good.
so as for now,no doubt that I'll use NIS2006 for the next year.

If this is the same release that's been circling around for a while, you can check the autorun.inf and you will see that it's pointing at an exe that does not exist, NCDSTART3.exe or something like that...

Just edit the iso, delete ncdstart.exe and rename NCDSTART.exe.bak to ncdstart.exe, point the autorun.inf to that file and you will have the original files.

I'm taking this out of memory since it's been a while since i did it, but it should be something like that.

I just formatted last month Rolling Eyes . Oh well, I'll just have to wait till my next format. I only use WinDoctor and its not worth going through the trouble just for that.

Also, when I load up ncdstart.exe, the titlebar displays "***galledo*** welcomes you to norton systemworks". I guess the file has been modified by hotiso?

Nope, it has been modified by galledo =) This iso has been circling around for quite a while, waiting for a working way to activate it.
I guess hotiso just released it the way it was. If you look closely on the iso you'll see that the original, unmodified files are still there named something like ncdstart.exe.bak or ncdstart.exe.old or something like that.....

At least it was on the original iso, I guess it's bin/cue now....

Ya it was actually named ncdstart3.exe so I just renamed it as you mentioned earlier. I just wanted to make sure I didnt get some fake release with this "galledo" name.
