The divergence happened after WWII or so though. So instead of going down the path of semiconductors, mankind went down the path of nuclear energy.

Sure, they may have discovered semiconductors, so they should maybe have non shitty terminals.

But again, that's pretty much the reason why the Institute doesn't jive with the feel of Fallout. Yes Bethesda now owns Fallout so they can do whatever they want with the lore. They're still mistaken in their understanding of it though.

Exactly. The level of complaints and nitpicking is reaching embarrassing levels right now Facepalm

I think that's near the retirement home in Salem, the bodies of the dead elderly didn't bother me too much but one of them had a cat (As you are told via terminal text and just seeing the cat bowls and such in her room.) and sure enough a cat can still be found wandering around the place and that's a bit weird. Primarily why this game, every other Bethesda game, and mostly every other RPG in existance needs mods like 'Immersive Patrols' for Skyrim.

They shouldn't ever respawn. With the mod I mentioned, random patrols would still be there (around the world, including areas you've cleared) to liven up the world. Better yet, they could even be on their way to repopulate cleared areas.

I don't know why they don't do this. It immediately makes their dead/empty roads feel alive.

To be fair, I see quite a lot of traffic in FO4 as it is - after 60 hours of playing I've had dozens of encounters with wandering Super Mutants, raiders, etc. and many caravans and vendors along the road.

Also, the settlement thing is your responsibility so it kinda does work like that: you clear an area and took over, building defenses, etc.

But for those locations that can't be populated, it does make sense for other groups to take over after a while. What doesn't make sense, is for bosses and and all to respawn.

Yeah it's this stuff they should have tweaked. Like, a dozen cats to show the cat had kittens and so on. Or a cat skeleton perhaps?

Also, it WOULD have made things more interesting if the entire zone had been radio-active until not too many years before leaving the vault. It would have explained many locations being relatively untouched.

FO NV sinned a lot against this as well - FO3 on the other hand, made fewer mistakes. Megaton made sense, Penny Tower looked suitably patched up, Washington did look like a giant mess and only a few locations raised my eyebrows. One was the police HQ which still had a very intact radiation-sickness camp with working computers inside a flimsy tent. FO4, however, has naked computers in the open that still work after 200 years Laughing

Note on bobbleheads, you can dupe them but the game checks. I used the dogmeat method to dupe one, but when I tried to drop them both the game deleted one, the new one, so I couldn't reuse it like the special book.

The whole level of things does seem off, but it could be explained with regional differences. Maybe there was more radiation there and thus it took longer for people to get their act together.

I would like settlements to be more deep. If you set up shops, random people coming in to buy things would be good. An opportunity to create actual cities that could rival cities in the game already. Way more build options.. they should be able to sweep some floors and clean some stuff up.

Perhaps a failed attempt by one of the many raiders in the game to get one of those toilets that cleans your ass for you. Very Happy
(Alas it's unfortunately not a head in a actual toilet, have yet to find anything like that but all the severed heads I've found - no you can't take them with you. - have been of this one guy so he must have had a really bad time after the bombs fell. Razz )

(Could it perhaps be one of the many "Garry" clones from Fallout 3? Very Happy )

Does the guy from the video realize that "the Obsidian" that worked on New Vegas doesn't exist anymore?

A Fallout management/strategy game would be great though.

Which is wrong, because New Vegas wasn't a spinoff, but a full blown Fallout title. Spinoffs are the bullshit seperate from the main game.

Well, now you're just arguing over the word 'spinoff' and you are right about that. That is not his point though Razz

FFS, there is a brief, one-two second black screen when entering interiors, even on an SSD.

Yes, it's not a "loading screen" in a sense that it doesn't display a huge LOADING bar when you enter the building, but they are there nevertheless.

The Witcher 3 doesn't have any load screens.

Another form of loading screens in Batman are the elevators, akin to the famous Mass Effect 1 elevator.

What Superbunnyhop was suggesting in his video above was to make games based on the franchise. He mentioned a strategy/management game, a Wasteland 2 type turnbased game and a more story-focused RPG game like New Vegas. Created by middle-sized teams that can keep the focus where it matters.

Is there any way to revert a choice in perks? or reset all of them?

Took the Bloody Mess perk yesterday but I really dislike it. Looks like total shit tbh, enemies just departing into four or five pieces of meat Laughing

Would've hoped Bethesda improved this since FO3, but meh...
guess it was BETTER in FO3...

Well a better game in many areas than FO3 but weaker in those that matter, dialogs and quests, kinda disappointing. Maybe there will be a new 'Bounties' mod or something, not sure how a mod can fix all the crappy dialog and no decisions though, I really miss the intelligence check in dialogs they really dumbed it down, more like COd less like an rpg.

Also increasing stats threw perks makes no sense, I can't really be stronger by just leveling up, I can get stronger by lifting shit maybe and steroids.

Perks I don't like it the end, you just get to powerful it's crazy, level up guns and bloody mess, maybe sneaking, this game is begging for a re-balance like Nevanda mod and a new perk system.

Ending is shit, story is not that good, that one twist is nice but not that nice, I dunno kinda leaves you feeling empty.

Unfortunately the game sold like crazy so I guess the next game is gonna be similar to a COD multi map Laughing Sad Sad
