No, it has nothing to do with nostalgia goggles; BF2 is superior to BF"3" in the only ways that matter; map and content and gameplay. Yes, it's a shame BF2 doesn't have Walker Assault, but then... it has Galactic Conquest and Space<>Ground battles where you can take out the defences of a capital ship, then fly into the hangar, get out, fight Stormtroopers on foot, blow up the internal shields and engines, then fly out before the ship is destroyed. In space.
Walker Assault? Pfeh. Doesn't even remotely compare.
imoimoimo.
There's no denying how unbelievably pretty BF"3" is though. I don't know how they managed it, especially running as well as it did in the beta, the visuals are like nothing I've ever seen and really show off how powerful Frostbite 2 can be.

Yeah I've been watching some screenshots over at NeoGaf and the game looks really good, apparently it runs great too.

The only way I can justify buying this game is if I find a deal for the base game for max 25€ and the same for the season pass.
Looks and sounds incredible, and I loved the beta. Despite the simplified combat, it just felt so good to play it. It's a nostalgia factor to be sure, which is why EA doesn't get more than 50€ from me for the whole package.

SW: BF3 is basically like a car that has a Lambo body but a Lada engine. Its all show, no substance, no lastability, gets old fast, hurts pocketbook.

Actually it's a Lamborghini Engine but there is no substance to it. They sell it with 3 wheels and only 2 gears. You can buy a 3rd gear for the price of the whole car...

Yeah EA is like the reverse Xzibit
Such great and authentic audio/visual material completely wasted for a kids game, and many of them don't even know what Star Wars is.
One can hope for the sexy engine to be used for other genres/games, but with this company involved even a potential surprise Kotor3 would end up being a popamole hack 'n slash starring social justice wookies, so I think it's almost safe to say that we're destined to never have a proper SW game ever again.

Last year I played Skyrim for the same reason so it's very likely I'll pick this up for around €35 which is what keys seem to be going for. |
If you want to play a quality game for christmas just install Max Payne |
Max Payne and then watch Die Hard, the perfect christmas experience!

Well apparently the paying public wants BS like that when 5-10 years good facking luck if your game still authenticates. We've been warning about this sh*t for almost a decade when this cancer started appearing and now the public "bought in and enabled/emboldened" such companies to keep these "features" in. Hence another "broken record" reason for private servers.
