Coastal cottage was just attacked by high level raiders, 1 legendary raider and 2 power armors. They damaged 2 turrets and entire farm, it was kinda nice to see settlers taking cover and attacking. The legendary raider dropped nice sniper rifle with 68 damage and +25% damage and limb damage, but has more recoil perk on it. Very Happy

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Im having an issue with audio and can't seem to figure it out.

Let's say I'm in a fight with raiders inside a building, I can hear raiders that are two floors
up like they're right around the corner or at least very close by. Like audio distance is fucked up or something. Anyone here knows what this is or having the same issues?

Very Happy

Haven't had these issues with previous Bethesda games though, or at least not to this degree.

Is anyone actually getting surround sound in this?
I'm definitely getting all the sounds as stereo.

If I have person left of me talking from right speaker is dead silent.

It's very annoying to look around listening to sounds and they switch abruptly from one ear to the other (sound can come from both at the same time, but then at same volume from both)

You can set it in the ini but it's disabled by default because it usually introduces glitches and other graphical artifacts.
http://forum.step-project.com/topic/9309-fallout-4-default-values-for-all-valid-ini-settings/?p=146054

EDIT: These are the default values, should be in Fallout4.ini under the [Display] section but you have to add them manually.

bMultiThreadedRenderingUNP=1 (This one doesn't cause any issues and is on by default.)
bMultiThreadedRenderingPPLD=0
bMultiThreadedRenderingPPM=0
bMultiThreadedRenderingFWD=0
bMultiThreadedRenderingDFL=0
bMultiThreadedRendering=0

Are you using steam stream, or steam link? This shit can't handle 5.1...better use a 20 M HDMI cable

Even if I didn't play this turd, my brother have proper 5.1

Check windows sound if you really have proper 5.1 ...last month i had mixed black and red... Twisted Evil

No steam link, and no idea what steam stream is (probably not?).
I have a 5.1 headphones, which connect via USB. Thus no chance for mixing channels. (before anyone starts, I know headphone surround is not 'real' surround but it simulates it but in my case it's clearly just... totally failing.)

I checked the audio settings and they were set to 5.1, maybe there's some application specific setting where it's set to stereo or something, but I have not found yet (spent total of 2 minutes looking so.... )

I have these headphones:
http://www.amazon.com/ROCCAT-Digital-Premium-Surround-Headset/dp/B00FEDP968/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1447767207&sr=1-1&keywords=roccat+kave+xtd+5.1

googled a bit and it seems like I'm not the only one :

Gonna wait for people to test the Multithreading, I have no time to deal with glitches and shit just because someone said it "supposedly" helps performance.

@keewee23 Good to know, will test and see.

Did you try put windows sound in stereo?

Don't these headphones just emulate 5.1

That could be the issue...

You can now download the new AMD Catalyst 15.11.1 Beta Driver, which contains quality and performance optimizations for the following titles: Star Wars: Battlefront Fallout 4 - Assassin's Creed Syndicate Call of Duty : Black Ops III.

What's your GPU?
I guess those drivers have no use for my old HD 7870.

Tested those multithreaded commands and they had absolutely no effect on the areas with big FPS drops. Gonna test out a few more areas just to be sure.

EDIT: Nope, nothing. Maybe it helps with some other cpu but not my 3570K.

@Bob Barnsen 270X OC 4 GB, think the 200 series (and above) profit most from that as per usual.

@xyzg They're console commands, people made bat files to execute them quickly, but you'd have to enter them each play session and seemingly, to most they make no impact.

Thanks Harry, i'll look 'em up. I'd still like to try them anyway, even though I haven't come across any frame rate issues in the game. Although I haven't reached that area in the game yet, where people have reported the fps drops
