I finally finished this just yesterday. I'd say it was pretty underwhelming. Cars handling is pretty terrible and not fun, so that I found myself calling taxi whenever possible to get around in basically second half of the game. Shooting got old and boring quickly enough, but that's because I don't really like third person pewpew, and even in first person mode there weren't aim down sight, only crosshairs/dot. Wanted system is pretty terrible too, even if I used silenced pistol to take down somebody silently (for example in that mission to steal a driller in final heist) it would immediately trigger two stars and have police on me within seconds.
Other than that it was okay. One thing that stood out was the world (some impressive vistas) and graphics. And it ran well too which was a nice surprise.

I had driving 100 on some character (I believe it was Franklin) towards end of the game, but it still was boring and just unfun

Yeah I know, but I am lazy to do that, all that searching for mods and installing. Game should be good enough even without mods. I take my time with modding only if I start playing a game for second playthrough.

I think it's either pressing the middle mouse button (the scroll) or just scrolling up when zoomed in with RMB, I don't remember and I don't have the game installed anymore.
Well fuck me then. I didn't even see any hint about it. Maybe I could've enjoyed gunplay a bit more... What a genius idea hiding it behind obscure key binding so that players won't find it.
I'm pretty sure there is a hint about it when you first get a gun, during one of the first missions with Franklin and Lamar, when you go steal a motorcycle.

Probably the biggest update GTA will become after heist one. We get new Cars, Yachts, Apartment customization, new Houses in the Vinewood Hills and new gamemodes.
