How do I turn off DOF/Blur? I've tried it in the options and INI and I can still see it in game, especially when walking. It's making me want to throw up!

Fov set to 95 too

Hilarious engine coding skills at Beth.

You make one of the highest grossing SPRPGs, and the next game you push out runs like this:

Engine speed connected to FPS. In 2015 no less. Tripple A title, too. >DDD

How can you make lamps in settlement actually turn on?
I can't wire them.
I also tried to put a generator right next to a wall lamp, but nothing happens at dark. Crying or Very sad

LOL, months ago when my nephew was glorifying FO4 (kids are so easy to market to) I remember telling him it will be compared to Witcher 3 which set the bar so high everything else will look & play like garbage to many people. So, no surprise on all the W3 comments in the FO4 thread.

Played all the previous Fallouts and enjoy them and so far FO4 seems to be more of the same which is fine. What I don't understand is the system req. vs. graphic quality. The game looks like it should run on anything.

You need to put connector switches on a nearby wall, tie it up to a generator, and they magically light up. Dude Happy

So, anyone find any T-51 armor yet? It's just not Fallout without the classic power armor (plus I hear it's a bit better than the T-45).

A full set of T-51 should keep me happy until I get my hands on an X-01 set.

Can you join multiple factions, or must you leave one to join another?
More specifically: joining the Brotherhood of Steel while already being the "General" of the Minutemen.

I would imagine that you can join both factions, but Preston was throwing a fit during the dialogue when I was first offered to join, so I postponed the decision. I'd like to be sure before I make a choice.

Ah nice, thanks! Very Happy
It seems though the lights have to be placed around the switch, or else they get no electricity, meh. Already looks bad enough with a power connection going from the outside generator through the wall to the switch. grinhurt

I'd like to know this too. Some sites talk about "losing favour" with opposing factions, so "weigh the pros and cons before joining" - but egh.. that's a bit too flippant. I'd like a solid answer Very Happy

What? No one else commenting about this? Some Japanese guys ties some engine stuff to framerate, get shit on, Bethesda does it, nothing. ???

Complain about aspects of a game get hurr durr'd. Don't complain about aspects of a game, still get hurr durr'd. NFOhump. NFOhump never changes Laughing

I mean, seriously, I wish some of you would make up your minds over what is, and isn't, allowed to be bitched about.. because CDPR have certainly got their own fair share of cockups but I don't remember people bitching about others NOT bitching over those Laughing Some of you bitch about the bitchers, some of you bitch because people aren't bitching. I mean.. can we start laying some ground rules around here so that we know what we are, and aren't, allowed to bitch about? And when we are, and aren't, allowed to bitch about them? And in what threads we are, and aren't, allowed to bitch about them in? Very Happy

All Bethesda's games have game logic tied to framerate, it's a monumental fuckup the likes of which only seen by console-locked Japanese developers. They've always had fuckups with the physics engine being tied to framerate. We, all over the internet, bitch about each and every single time it happens. It still keeps happening. We know it, we can't change it, so we just rage internally and then get on with it.

If you get bored, do look back on the thread a few weeks before TW3 was released. There was a shitstorm of cynicism, bitching and hating in here. One week later opinions changed Laughing

I'm not at all claiming this game is flawless. The bugs are annoying, the framerates are total shit when you look at what the game looks like, but I still enjoy it alot. Maybe this is just a generation of spoiled brats who don't appreciate a good videogame anymore, or maybe I'm just biased because I always loved Bethesda games.... Dunno

When the E3 announcement took place, we could've all seen this was alot like FO3.

I mean jesus fucking christ, this game currently has a 4.7 on metacritic (user score). Its fucking insane.

Hmm, so apparently this is using the Creation Engine and not Gamebryo - could have fooled me.

I had written up a huge rant about how Gamebryo was great at displaying large, handcrafted worlds with plenty of plopped down objects, but horrible when it came to making those worlds feel alive/simulating physics/combat animations.

Guess it's time to retire this engine too - feels like Gamebryo 1.5.

Pretty much most Japanese console devs have their engines tied to the framerate. We rage about it, but nothing changes, game after game after game.

We still get mad about it though.

I guess Todd is just a lovable rapscallion. Dude Cool

Change or add these to every INI file entry under "Imagespace"...

bDoDepthOfField=0
bScreenSpaceBokeh=0
bDoRadialBlur=0

This removed all DOF/Blurriness for me aside from the menu.

EDIT...remember to make them "read only" when you're done.

And I haven't had to set any to read only, plus my FOV never changes (even though someone mentioned before that it changes after a while)

It probably changes if you don't turn it to "Read-only".

Which .ini did you change for FOV settings?

You linked to a recent topic of TW3. Right before I mentioned the NFOHUMP forum about TW3 right before offical release. Thought these two were related, but gues not?

If someone messes with the engine maybe strange stuff should be expected? usually you can tun off vsync for games yes, but not for this game.. its as simple as that. other bugs may also occur.. same in their older games (though not in morrowind, i think).
