There have been plans for some time now to build a /very/ large skyscraper in chicago, which is much taller then the sears tower. The only thing they waiting for is to get a plot of land that would be suitable for the project.

Burj Dubai = 750-800meters tall

yea there chucking shitloads of cash into making it the perfect tourism spot because they know that the money from oil isnt going to last them forever , the palms resort is absolutely insane , would be fun playing god and creating your own islands
