Because there are underwater areas? Very Happy
I just stumbled upon some big water area in a quarry.
I was not able to really explore it though, as the water was pretty deep and radiated. Smile

I'm hoping the big water portion of the map has a bunch of shit in it worth exploring.

Although typical with bethesda it will be a giant wasted space.

The rays are sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiightly softer when in contact with hard surfaces. On Ultra. And you'll lose up to 35fps from it.

Ultra vs Low. Good luck spotting the difference (hint: there is none)

And here is the only image that has *any* difference whatsoever;

http://images.nvidia.com/geforce-com/international/comparisons/fallout-4/fallout-4-god-rays-quality-interactive-comparison-001-ultra-vs-low.html

See how long it takes you to spot the change. Found it? Not yet? I'll wait. Okay, how about now? You found it? Awesome!

I was able to instantly tell the difference but the difference is marginal at best and feck me, definitely not 30 fucking fps Very Happy

@djvelho

Reduce shitrays to low. There is little to no difference between low and ultra quality wise but a really noticeable performance hit and it uses lots of tessellation( the usual nvidia cheap tricks). Very Happy

It could be a framerate issue if you have a monitor capable of higher than 60hz or if you disabled VSync without using software to first cap the framerate to avoid it going above 60.

There's a variety of issues with higher than supported framerate in this game such as glitchy reload animations, subtitles not synching to spoken audio and other animation and physics glitches.

Don't you have to grow your own? I thought that was the "thing" in settlements?

For myself; does anyone know if you can breakdown/scrap ARMOUR and WEAPONS? I've got an inventory full of pistols, rifles and armour pieces. Can they be used for anything or are they just taking up space and should be sold/traded?

@sabin1981 Not sure about Armour, but Guns can be scrapped just as well, on the Tables as per usual.

@Hellifant Found some sort of Carrot on my way to the "help the Settlement" mission.

If you find your pipboy to be to small, press ~, the type fov XX, where XX is a smallish number. This will take same trial and error, and whilst this fov will not stick for your general game, this will change the fov when pulling out your pipboy. (A thankyou to InvalidFace for noticing and posting this tweak for the pipboy in the comments below).

Well... so far so Fallout. Making a whole town is fun I suppose, but that UI... modders to the rescue I hope!

Spolier it please, but how the fuck to you recharge the fusion core for the powersuit once you run it down?

Shooting things absolutely rocks, but... (only a very minor spoiler at beginning)

 Spoiler:

World is already full of nice little touches - no spoilers, but they're everywhere if you look for them.

As for the convos? I think they're like they are because the protagonist is now fully voiced, and I guess they didn't want the voice actors reading out hundreds more lines of stuff.

Overall first impressions? Dude Cool
