Omnomnom more leaks!
Things look remarkably smooth and responsive for a Creation engine game. There seems to be a good feel for the gunplay and even moving around is less awkward sliding and more actual walking. The weird "laggy" shooting in FO3/New Vegas always grated on me. If you pulled the trigger in rapid succession it would often not register your clicks even if the gun could shoot at that pace.

Exactly, and instead of building great high poly detailed models and high res textures they built the game from the ground up with current shitty consoles as the target.
And FYI Skyrim at release vanilla was still decently impressive at times on PC, same goes for Fallout 3. This game already looks a few years old, which is the problem. It looks so bad that I'm wondering if they were initially targeting last gen consoles at some point since the development takes so long with these games.
At the very least the game looks smooth now and isn't as disconnected in control. So at least we have that.

Can they actually download it in Aus and nz? Given their caps on broadband etc.. Is the early release a massive troll

As always, it's down to the modders to fix everything. |
And that right there is why Bethesda hasn't gotten my money for a long time. Even when mods fix it, the end user is still left with half a day or more of installing and mucking around trying to track down incompatibilities and instability.
They're a lazy developer that relies on customers to make their games what they should have been, often skimping on even the most basic of features (UI, for example).
This will be bought when the GOTY edition is down to $15 or less in two years or so - not a penny more.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
