Wise Rulers know their kingdom will fall,
Brave Rulers do not despair.
Great Rulers know their riches can rule,
And spend every coin with great care.
In Kingdom, each coin spent can tip the balance between prosperity and decay. Attend to your domain, border to border, or venture into the wild to discover its wonders and its threats. Master the land, build your defenses, and when the darkness comes, stand with your people, crown on your head, until the very end.
Gameplay
Kingdom is a 2D sidescrolling strategy/resource management hybrid with a minimalist feel wrapped in a beautiful, modern pixel art aesthetic. Play the role of a king or queen atop their horse and enter a procedurally generated realm primed to sustain a kingdom, then toss gold to peasants and turn them into your loyal subjects in order to make your kingdom flourish. Protect your domain at night from the greedy creatures looking to steal your coins and crown, and explore the nearby, mysterious forests to discover curious and cryptic artifacts to aid your kingdom.
That price on Steam is deliciously low too! Especially for Norway, which is currently one of the cheapest currencies to purchase with... 70kr works out at £5.64, whereas the Steam GBP price is actually £6.99. Goddamn I hate being broke, especially when it comes to awesome looking cheap games that I really want to buy and support the devs
Well the art and graphic look beautiful.
But i can't help me with gameplay. With those gold coins dropping from everything and used for everything it gives me a feeling of being some mobile game.
Gonna wait for the full release though and test the game myself then.

That is what I assume. But since I read that these steam times supposedly aren't that accurate I figure there is some error margin. I also dont even know if this has a worthwhile protection.
There are fucking flying creatures that actually kill everyone... fuck
Yeah, I just encountered those. Took a bunch of my archers.
It's a bit annoying having to run back and forth trying to get your filthy peasants back after they get attacked. Would've preferred just a straight up mouse-driven game without a leader just because of how annoying it is. In your base, anyway, exploring could be the same.
After about 1.5 hour i am currently at day 24.
Normally i don't like these kind of survival games, same as Don't Starve. So probably won't play it again after i lose soon.
Because of the simplicity i miss several features:
- at least some kind of tooltip or tutorial, what the empty building spots are for.
- A info that you get less morning gold, the more you upgrade your main building. At upgrade 4 or 5 (the latest upgrade) i get 1 fucking gold, instead of like 10 gold at the previous tier.
- That you can't specify how many archers are following your knights. I think every knight gets 3 fixed archers. For me that means i had no hunters left and therefore had nobody to hunt for coins for several days.
- Sucks that you can't give orders to your knights at least. I had two times now, that one side got breached, while the other was just fine and the there stationed soldiers just masterbated.

Yea the farmers helped much, i noticed. Too bad i lost them all as one side got breached during an attack. Leaving me with no coin to repair anything or even build new farmers.
So i died at day 34 now.
Thanks and bye.
