you are talking about those slots on the character screen mutagen + a 3 slot pillar?
its definitely worth having them all color match in one pillar+ mutagen slot. so far I have two fully blue pillars, and third one jsut opened and has 1 green.
It is kinda disappointing you can't really mix and match though. the game shoehorns you into red, green or blue, but it doesn't let you focus on one or two skills. you have to max out 3 different signs at least, for example, to unlock the 3rd and 4th tier trees.
I would have loved to just max out oil skill+ axii and yrden, but I really can't do anything beyond the tier 1 oil, and have to spend everything else on signs or I'd end up with just tier 1 for everything.

I've finished it today
It was great albeit really short (the main quest).
The final boss (ghosts) fight was intense Other bosses were pretty easy.
When I got to the painting world I switched from the pure sign build to alchemy+signs. It's not as crazy OP as swords+alchemy build but still pretty nice.
PS Is there any good loot in the last mission? I found the viper sword but I didn't explore properly.

Yeah the timer made exploring that last place a bit hectic and I didn't find much either.
Spoiler: |
Damn fine sword though that you get as a reward for doing the quest "right" or how to say.

There's relic versions of the Flaming Rose and Ofieri swords but I don't think they offer anything special, same with some of the armor sets which are available in qualities from blue to yellow and finally orange (Like the Moon / Thief armor.) but I don't think they offer anything special either so the only unique equipment would be:
Spoiler: |
The new silver sword - or rather it's schematic - found in the new elven ruins and the saber you are given if you choose to confront Mirror Man / Mephisto. <- Or whoever he is, that there is not confirmed in-game but some files and script comments call him that.
There's also the Witcher Viper armor and new Venom variant swords.
Finally the horse "saddle" if you choose that as a reward for the not-quite-good outcome of the quest with Master Mirror.
(Poor Roach.)
(Come to think of it the crafted Ofieri armor might have some special stats and be a bit of a unique set.)
|
(Contains possible item spoilers and a end of DLC quest spoiler regarding a certain NPC.)

Yeah . So does this addon have only two weapons with unique enchantments?
PS I've checked what you can get if you avoid confrontation with the Mirror dude.Actually some rewards are quite good
Spoiler: |
"Wanna be as swift as the wind."
Caparison of Lament Saddle. +100 Horse Stamina
"Never wanna go hungry again."
Horn of Plenty. Provides an endless supply of food, offers +40 Vitality regeneration (25 in combat) for 5 seconds.
"A bottle of vodka that's always full."
Botomless Carafe. Provides an endless supply of alcohol to use in alchemic conconctions.
"Wanna be rich."
5000 Crowns
"I don't want anything from you."
Nothing. Except the sole ownership of your soul.
|
|
I wonder if picking any of the rewards would come back to bite you in the ass later (next expansion) or not

Well the second viper sword is in there, for my level (39) viper steel/silver were the best for me.

even at only 65ish hours, and almost no story content completed, I gotta say, best 3rd person action rpg since gothic 2: night of the raven. doesn't quite surpass the gothic 1 and 2 duo for me, but it shall do, considering the derp era we currently inhabit.
It even surpasses witcher 1 in most aspects, and mops the floor with witcher 2.
It's a great day to be a gamer. |
Gothic 1/2 had some of the best immersion and factions relations ive seen. But story wise, you will see.. nothing quite beats the combined quests and beauty of the W3. Oh yes and i love the combat, sometimes i just stop to fight some muckners or drowners for the fun and heads rolling of it. Amazing game, CDP RED.

Quote: | CD Projekt RED Community Manager Marcin Momot has confirmed a few hours ago that the upcoming The Witcher 3 1.11 patch is going to include balance tweaks for all Hearts of Stone bosses. As the bosses can be quite challenging even at lower difficulty levels, these tweaks are definitely welcome. |

boss battles should be challenging....it's the very definition of it
finished hos expansion, tried to get as many hours as i could out of it, definitely one of the best dlc ever made, mixing 3 genres into 1. can't wait for the next one
