Chaps, I have a Samsung Smart TV, and have hooked this up to it with a 3TB HD in it

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OZ0CTAU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01

Now, if I use a simple external HD or Flash drive and hook it up to the TV via USB, it will dump a tiny file (some sort of index file) and resume any video I have been watching, however, over a network it will not. I have given the TV access to read/write to the device in the Diskstation setup but it makes no difference. This is completely independent of my PC. I do not wish to stream from my PC to the TV.

Is there a way to force the TV/Diskstation to resume files ? I have of course done a search and it looks like a lot of people are asking the same question. Do any of you have any ideas?

I have tried installing a few (crappy) apps on the TV but it makes no difference.

Thanks

Can't help I'm afraid, my samsung isn't smart. I just use the DLNA function with Mezzmo (stream from PC).
