Outcast, Cinemax‘s exorcism drama pilot from The Walking Dead executive producer Robert Kirkman and Chris Black, has been picked up to series with a 10-episode order.
Based on the Skybound/Image comic title by Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, the series follows Kyle Barnes, a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson, a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever.
Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Gone Girl) stars as Barnes, a man searching for answers, and for redemption, who sequesters himself from those he loves for fear of causing greater hurt. Philip Glenister stars as Reverend Anderson, a West Virginia evangelist who believes he is a soldier in God’s holy war against the forces of evil on Earth. An inveterate drinker and gambler, he doesn’t believe God intends people to sweat the small stuff. Gabriel Bateman stars as Joshua Austin, an eight-year-old who lives across town from Kyle. To his family’s dismay, he appears to be in the clutches of demonic possession, but there’s something very different about this possession and its connection to Kyle Barnes..
The official key art for the upcoming Cinemax television series “Outcast” has been revealed online, along with a variant cover for the first issue of the series featuring star Patrick Fugit in the same pose as the original art
Just watched it and I liked it.

This gotta provide more entertainment than the occasional kid-beating. It was kinda amusing...
I have a feeling this is going to be a somber emo-drama flashback type thing and something interesting happens maybe once every 3 episodes.
I'll stick for a while as well. Please prove me wrong, show.
Overall it was nice imho but really slow. The pilot was good, then there were several boring episodes, then it started getting interesting and the season finale was good.
It looks like it's not all black and white as it seemed in the beginning.
We got little to no answers though..
The show really needs to change it's pace but considering it's based on Kirkmans comics and they are still ongoing.. yeah
Yeah, stuck with it, season turned out to be quite ok.
Slow pacing but there were a couple of answers in the later episodes.
Not too much emo bs thankfully.
They also managed well to give this a creepy, menacing atmosphere.
Will see where this is heading in Season 2.
