For people who asked about using old saves:
It looks like this version uses the same path as the legit version. I started the game and it detected my previous saves.
Those are located in: Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age Inquisition/Save
Give it a try.

Heh you have access to that right at the start now due to the Qunari/Avaar DLC packs? Very Happy
(Used to be tied to a quest that would unlock that particular category of mounts although for people owning the deluxe edition the "unicorn" could be found in the same category, as can the Avaar version of it with this new DLC.)

As far as mounts go I still prefer the bard charger although it matters little since they all have the same statistics and are just for moving about the terrain faster. Very Happy
(The Qunari themed horse isn't too bad though the Avaar mounts are pretty lazy in design, just a mud/paint theme white texture over the base model for each mount category.)

EDIT: Well yeah a "barded charger" since the horse armor is called a barding or some such.

Wouldn't mind a bard charger in Witcher 3 though, riding Dandelion into battle since he's (In his own imaginary world.) such a bad-ass. Razz

Thanks. I wanted to play the latest dlc but didn't want to purchase it nor start over with the yarr version. Great news Smile

So is Tactical Mode usable now or still messed up like it was on launch?

Define usable and I'll post a follow up answer:

A) *Slightly* better than it was
B) Better than it was
C) Better than it was + better PC controls
D) Better than it was + better PC controls + actually fucking works like it did in DAO and is legitimately useful in combat

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

@JBeckman as soon as i got access to the war table, i had 4 operations i think about mounts with 0 time, some look really great like that electrical horse or really crap like the "unicorns" with the sword in their head

My first impressions of the game are:

1) Graphics quality is inconsistent
2) That is not Leliana
3) What the fuck with the capped framerate cutscenes?
4) That's some weird-ass fast forward benchmark, wut?

Ive played around 30h so far from the cpy goty version and surprisingly i like it more than when i played at launch, maybe im just in the mood now; graphics wise it suffers the same as witcher3, with some awesome views and regions but sometimes the color pallete and illuminations are pure shit (storm coast or crestwood for example look absolutely incredible overall Drooling )

Learnt too late about the save editor, with which you can make your own custom world at the beginning, most choices from default world differ from what i chose in da1+2

About cutscenes, you can add this in launch options -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

Add the following command to your DAI launch options/shortcut as lola rightly said Smile

-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

Be warned, this will rape your machine like never before. This, like Wolfenstein TNO and Dead Rising 3, has some *insane* system requirements in cutscenes and with close ups on face. Subsurface Scattering effects cripple framerate when you get up close and personal.

4) That's some weird-ass fast forward benchmark, wut?

Frostbite 3's ridiculous speed-locked-to-gamelogic stuff in full effect. If you didn't use the final part of the command, the ForceSimRate bit, your game would double in speed during cutscenes as it goes from 30fps to 60fps Benny Hill-o-vision grinhurt

So I start a new game with the default world state and wait until first save is created.
Then I use the Save Editor to modify the plot flags according to my decisions in the previous games, save changes and continue from there? Does it work like that?
I guess there is no way to import old Hawke face into yarr version?

There's no face importing in any version. You are given the option to approximate the face in-game using the same character creator you made the PC with.

Really? I was pretty sure it used info from somewhere since when I encountered him and was given the chance to change the appearance it used something completely different from his default appearance first which I immediately reverted to default because I completely suck at using the character creator utility in these types of games so he looked ridiculous. Very Happy
(Don't fully remember how he looked in DA2 but seeing the appearance the game gave him I'm pretty sure it tried to use info either from the DA2 save or as a result of the Keep info.)

The Keep doesn't use any save data from either Origins or DA2, it just uses stats/info from Origins uploaded to the Bioware/EA servers. I don't think DA2 even has that much, it all has to be entered manually. The only thing that importing Keep data into Inquisition does is set whether your Hawke was male or female, and what class they were. There is a default morph for each that attempts to approximate the default morphs from DA2, but that's it. Even if you could get the Keep to read your DA2 save data, the morph systems would not be compatible anyway, so you still wouldn't get any face transfer.

Yeah that's certainly true, face system changed a bit between DA2 and DA:I so there's no way it would be compatible and as such it has to be approximated instead in some way, not really sure what the Keep actually contains but what you said makes sense, probably just some simpler variables that are stored server side and synced when you start a new game in DA:I and choose to import a custom world state.

Must have been a bit confused because I expected the game to use Hawke's default appearance and instead it used "that" heh.
(Which I immediately defaulted although I removed that weird blood smear Hawke has, who the hell smears blood across their nose as a makeup? Another strange decision during the creation of Dragon Age 2 I guess...)

Was wondering why I had some "?" in the mounts list after completing the game, seems one was due to a botched war-table operation and three were due to exclusive DLC partnerships.

This is the harth I was missing, whoops guess I botched that job. Razz
http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Royal_Sixteen
(Not that I ever used Harths, not that mounts even make a difference besides appearances as far as I know as they all have the same stats though the armored horse looks pretty neat if a tad overly touched up or how to say.)

This is the eh "AMD Horse" or what to call it, part of their (poor) Raptr client and achievement unlockables. Razz
http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Avvar_Mixed_Draft
(Kinda like the Avaar mount with a little bit of armor and a tint of red.)

This was a Prima Guide exclusive DLC.
http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Primal-Trained_Longma
(Kinda poor for a exotic mount, it's just a dracolisk and unlike the above AMD horse it doesn't even have any extra parts, just a different texture.)

And finally some Logitech exclusive DLC.
http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Light-Torn_Steed
(Cool looking mount actually, shame it's locked away like that.)
(EDIT: Seems it has special abilities too.)

Oh so it's not only for Steam DLC, interesting .Very Happy
(Well I know there's been some attempts on unlocking UPlay content but I had no idea there was something for this game since it used Origin.)

EDIT: Nice. Smile

This is boring, men. I am at the start, after closing a big rift, when you wake up a couple of days later and the game serves you a power fantasy where people bow down for you, wtf...

I don't like the combat either, I created a mage and only have 4 generic schools of magic to choose from? Where are all the spells, what is going on?

The game gave me some dlc/preorder whatever it is armors. The best one stat-wise makes me look like a transvestite, wth Very Happy

I am not convinced by the story at all so far. Generic impending but not really doom, you are the only one, the chosen one, your legacy is to save the world lmao ... just because you woke up with a glowing mark on your hand while having no idea wtf is going on. Only YOU can close the rifts, you are a speshul snowflake. Cool story, bros.

That is not Leliana btw.

And the combat ... lmao I just do the 2 spells I have and keep the attack button pressed. I'm too bored to switch to the others except to make them gulp down a potion.

Is this game really worth it, does it shift into high gear somehow?

No, not worth it at all.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

In the original DA you could check out the spells and unlock some of them. In this one I don't see the same scope, just 4 super generic magic classes. I guess more get unlocked, no way to know except asking, which is what I am doing.

I will uninstall this, it lasted about as long as DA2 did. Bioware sucks nowadays, I'm getting their games free and still I don't bother with them...
