Hey Armikroggers!

As we're approaching the finish line, we've come across some details in the game that we really want to address. Some of the issues are about tuning, while others are straight-up bugs fixes. Since we owe it to every one of you to give you the best possible game we can make, we've decided to push back the game's release date to September 8th.

We've enjoyed and appreciated your overwhelming support throughout this whole production, and we want you to be proud of the game that you've backed. Mike and I both feel like releasing the game without addressing the last of these issues would be falling short of that.

Thanks everyone -- the adventure begins September 8th!

Delayed again

Quote:
Hey Everyone--

The Armikrog team has been working around the clock (literally) to get the game polished for release. Our goal is to give you a great game--unfortunately over these past few days we've encountered a few bugs that are going force us to push back the release date. We understand that we've pushed the date back before, and here we are doing it again--but a short term delay in order to give you a great game is better than giving you a frustrating broken version tomorrow.

Over the past 7 days we've had some new technical issues pop up. Specifically some critical bugs called 'progression stoppers,' where users couldn’t get past certain points in the game. While these bugs continue to be fixable, they just aren't issues that we can ship with. Even this morning the Quality Assurance team kicked back a build due to an early critical bug. Yes, everyone is working through the Labor Day weekend, including our pals in Q.A.

We're confident that all of these issues are fixable. We just need a little more time, so we're pushing the release date back to September 30th.
Hang in there with us -- we know everyone is excited to play Armikrog, and we're excited to see you all play it!

Thanks for all of your support!

--Ed and the Pencil Test Studios Team

Aw it was to be expected sadly (their latest twitter posts weren't reassuring). At this point I think it would be wise to just put a giant and seal the deal without any rushing. Razz

A bug is currently causing the main menu and other in-game text to be blanked out if your system locale is not set to English, on Windows 10 however even if set to English you won't see any text, developers are going to patch it though I wonder how it was missed during the beta testing and two delays, weird but I guess shit happens sometimes?

<- Screencapping the intro video. Razz

<- In-game at last, well one single image at least. Very Happy

<- The main menu, it does nothing. Laughing
(Well OK so it does work but all other text in the game is also missing so it's not really playable even if you get past this, anyways the first "tab" starts a new game, second one does something I didn't check - load game? - third one is exit and fourth is the credits.)

Haha damn, it sounds like they could have used another delay or two. We shall expect the usual patching procedure, a traditional feat of our gaming lives.

I thought the game was still trying to unwrap the story and its characters, when I stumbled upon the ending Sad Laughing

The beginning was promising, and I still enjoyed solving the puzzles and exploring the crazy, beautiful world of Armikrog, but alas. The game dropped the ball at some point, with repetitive sequences, a lot of backtracking, an underwhelming final part and not much humour either, unfortunately. It fails to reach the heights of its brilliant predecessor, especially when it comes to locations and puzzles. It's evident that entire sections and ideas got cut/cancelled to meet the deadline, and the odd technical glitches along with the short length would confirm that [squeezes Beak Beak]
