I'm in the same boat, I've not been blown away with what I've played so far and have no real urge to play it. Unfortunately Mad Max hasn't worked for me so I'm playing some of my backlog before Fallout 4 arrives.

Yeah me too, I've no real heart to play it after playing the first mission. I even downloaded ground zeroes, played a bit of that for 20 mins or so and quit. I'm just waiting for The Witcher expansion tbh, and will play Fallout 4 after that. Reading the backstory on ground zeroes is all you need to know. It's totally ridiculous and nonsensical.

Played couple hours so far but its nice fun gameplay-wise , but no way in hell ,i am not seeing how this could beat Witcher 3 for GOTY ... could anyone who rates this above TW3 explain it??

I actually really like MGSV. But I never played MGS game before and so I can't compare it to the older games can't care about story - only gameplay. I usually play it for few hours every few days. I realize it's very repetitive, but it's still much fun in smaller doses.
Definitely not GOTY though, that spot belongs to TW3.

So I'm a bit into chapter 2 now and I ran out of unique missions to do. All I have on the list is re-runs of old missions with added difficulty. Will I have to do many/all of those to get the full plot?

you just need to do the yellow side ips (only a few of them are there in the game) and visit mother base now and then for next story development etc.
no need to do even one of the rehashed missions.

You do have to do one mission sometimes to get the next scene or plot mission.
I did some side ops and didnt get what i was waiting for, had to do a hard main one to get the plot moving.

nah you can do one standard side op instead, its quicker. i didnt have to do any of the rehash ones to get all 50 missions unlocked.
