I just finished my decryptor program which is able to decrypt the EBOOT.BIN (and the 2.x PRX's) from the latest games which, for instance, makes Pro Evo Soccer 5 Euro version work on 1.50. Other games like GTA still have another problem and am still working on those as well...

Have fun with it, instructions in the readme.txt.

The following games that wouldn't work previously due to the 2.0 fw issue now work:

no really... evry coder that I saw that made anything for the psp had somekind of donation... only humma did not had it.. and he made the best shit out there...

he said IF you donate, and he made it CLEAR that he wasn't promising anything - hes not throwing a fucking yoshi, hes just letting people know he appreciates any donations, but hes not PROMISING to make any huge progress...nothing wrong with that.

Well the reason these other games won't work using this method , there is no PRX file from 1.5 to save/create games, and therefore, this trick will not work for GTA, SOCOM, etc. that use save/load PRX from 2.00.

Unless you can decyrpt the save/load PRX from 2.00 then emulate it using UMD Emu 8C then that could work.. I think.. Rolling Eyes

MPH (The maker of 2.00 -> 1.50 downgrade) is working on Firmware Emulation. This is currently in BETA, but is showing a lot of progress.

Doesnt the UMD Emu have the same feature? If so, why can we not use this to boot the other files :\?

FYI: As well as "RipKits" you can now download "FixKits" - They build a new ISO with the decrypted eboot Smile!

It's still in beta stage so not really optimized for n00bs (I'm not saying you're a n00b but you know what I mean) + there are alot of errors like it emulates firmware v2.50 but with alot of serious bugs like corrupted errors etc...

now now, play nice... all he's saying is that it isn't friendly for people who dont take the time to learn about what they are doing (ie, the people who keep asking how to play isos on their 2.5, or if gta works, or where you put the iso's, even though its clearly F**KING WRITTEN IN THE TXT FILE THAT COMES WITH THE LOADERS...)

*ahem*...

so yeah i agree, its only really for people who know what they are doing, at the moment Very Happy

firmware 2.6 out....

Additions in this firmware update include:

– [RSS Channel] has been added as a feature under [Network].

– [Simplified Chinese (GB18030)] and [Tradition Chinese (Big5)] have been added as options to [Encoding] under [View] in the [Internet Browser] menu bar. (Characters may be indistinct in some cases when these encoding options are selected.)

– [Volume Adjustment] has been added as a feature to [LocationFree Player].

– You can now download video data that supports copyright protection using the [Internet Browser].

– WMA has been added as a codec that can be played under [Music]. (This applies to music data saved on your Memory Stick.) Note: You must adjust a system setting to enable playback of WMA format music data. A connection to the internet is required to adjust the setting.


+ of course Sony will patch a few security holes with this new version Rolling Eyes

There are people that have hacked a GTA:LCS savegame. This was done to make a gamecheat, but now people are looking into it as a possible 2.0 exploit!

Now we have decryption, progression to Firmware emulation and a *possible* save exploit for 2.0! Things are happening again!

Edit: No wonder Sony releases this new update :/
