Isn't the main gimmick of Blood Bowl that when you fail any action your turn is automatically over?
Just do the non risky stuff first like moving and save picking up and throwing the ball for last. You'll probably fail at picking up the ball as humans, because apparently 4 fingers and a thumb is not enough for grasping things.
Haven't played it in a long time, because honestly they keep their games way too expensive for what they are, but I think one of my chief gripes with the original was that the AI teams had VERY limited tactics. Oh, and the RNG cheated.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

I never liked Humans (and in the game). Jack-of-all-trades types never do it for me. Chaos or Orcs are my preference. Against squishy teams like Elves/Humans/Skaven, you just focus on beating the shit out of them for the first half and eventually they should be down a few players and unable to stop you, especially early on when they don't have a lot of skills/star players. It can be a bit of a grindfest against other crunchy teams like Dwarfs though.
I wonder if they have nerfed all the mutations. Nothing like having half a team with Razor Sharp Claws and coming up against low armoured teams like Elves and Skaven. Really makes your mouth water at the prospect.
Game is a bit shit compared to the chaos edition.
-No notable graphical improvement (quite the opposit sometimes)
-The GUI is not that clear (the cards of the players are a pain to read easily, the camera is confusing, the colors are weak and bloomy, the dice mechanic isn't well done, you can easily click on the worst outcome by mistake)
-The number of available races and their unit content (3 units for chaos, no undead, etc...) is meagre
-The possibilities are lessened (you can't buy gear, can't customize, etc...)
-The commentators are way less fun and their voice is cheapish
-Stupid DLC-oriented content
+ ...well, I frankly don't see any
What a letdown

Yeah, I don't see any reason to play it over Chaos Edition. Wait for inevitable mass DLC.
I mean, they have the visual assets (and designing an arena takes time and skill? Nigga please), they have the mechanic and the balance (It's a Game Workshop package, so no need to invent something), you ALREADY MADE a game that was considered good, and still you manage to take more than 2 years to spit up this half-assed huge leap backward? What on earth are those guys thinking?

It is kind of lame that they only have head customisation for players. The first game gave you a couple of body options as well, as I recall.
The positioning of the block dice is shitty too, seems to be obscured half the time, requiring moving the camera. They should move it to the bottom of the screen.
Beastman, Chaos Warrior, Minotaur I take it? That was always the vanilla Chaos team. It was only the spinoffs that got other stuff, like Rotters, etc.
Oh, my bad then But still, there are way too few races (6,7?), and there are humans and brettonians? This is kinda ridiculous.
On the plus side, I think the short cutscene animations of an outcome and the sound effects are quite immersive, well done and overall welcome, but boy does it still come short.

Try and hold them off till the second half they when they get blood cauldron thing they will just go for you team to smack them, ignore them and get the ball.
I miss the contextual pointer of the previous game...
Anyway, is there no longer a fumble mechanic? I'm not losing my turn when screwing up. Or is it temporarily locked in story mode like the injuries and the KOs and the SPP? For fuck sake.
Are there no tournament mode or whatever that semi dynamic mode was called? That was great.
Yes, just click the "Play in a League" button, directly under the Campaign button. You can choose from a couple of different formats. I cancelled out of the Campaign mode in about 30 seconds after I realised you had to play as the fucking Reikland Reavers, blech.
I'm currently doing a 3 tier Old World style league. Played 2 matches with my Chaos team, won both 2-0 against a Human team and an Orc team. The AI is still pretty shitty.

Yup, turnovers are temporarily locked in campaign, they unlock in the fourth match (recorded a gameplay video of it, posting it below)
I'm not sure if this was an official rules change, but Chaos seem crazy overpowered now. Beastman get access to Strength skills and Mutations by default, no doubles required. Chaos Warriors and Minotaurs also have access to Mutations by default. Not that I'm complaining, not yet anyway. I might start bitching when I run into another Chaos team of a high ranking, lol.
I'm curious as to what similar sorts of changes have been made to the other teams. I'll have to check out my other favourites, the Orcs.
