@freiwald FANBOY ALARM!! Like people hating on Titanfail (which probably has less players than HARDLINE) was something new as opposed to you and Royal being total fanboys of it. A lot played it a lot disliked most of the game, is that the only game? Ofc not, we hate COD for the same shit as well.

Of course he has to pull the "they play other games I don't like so they're idiots" card, insults, insults everywhere! Like Morph said, you're NOT better than us "assholes/idiots/whatever" you titled us repeatedly. I'm writing this because since he's banned, if he wants to read the forum he needs to be logged out and has no "ignore" option -> thus needs to "endure" what we write.

@cyclonefr You quoted a troll post from me 10 hours after you already were engaged in something else? You trying to start something? Best of luck, NOT WITH ME.

Please, you were known for saying things and twisting words that never were true. It was okay just like KC, but somehow each one of you starts posting that stuff everywhere ALL THE TIME or in threads where it doesn't belong and it starts to get annoying, that's not an opinion anymore nor "freedom of speech".

Oh yeah? I bet Unity would've gotten much better in performance if it was delayed, suuuuure, I believe in fairy tales Laughing People are still waiting for the "60 fps patch" for Arkham Knight as well, should've been delayed, performance guaranteed Rolling Eyes

I honestly don't know, bud, I didn't really play HP2. Hell... to be honest, I haven't played much NFS since Carbon. I tried out Rivals just to see how the 60fps fix worked, but egh. You'd know the tracks better than I would Very Happy Now, if we were talking about Ridge Racer... J Browman

More like you are everywhere complaining about my posts.

If you somehow just accepted that I have opinions too, then most threads wouldn't be clattered of useless posts and you would simply stop saying "stop saying shit, your opinion is wrong and you suck".

No I won't go back to my console arena, here it's already elaborated that games will run at 30fps in the worst case scenario, and on every rig. So yeah there is nothing more to say. Or maybe not, I posted about Until Dawn running sometimes at sub par 20 fps. So yeah, I did that. I wished that the developers would have taken time to optimize it a bit more, sadly they released it as is.

Lucky you to have EA promising a 60fps version of NFS on PC. Honestly I'd take the 6 month delay to have this running at 60fps rather than 30 fps on PS4, but I guess they don't care much about console optimization (IN BEFORE PS4 hardware sucks so that's the only reason it runs at 30fps : even Resident Evil HD on PS4 runs at 30fps, surely it's due to the PS4 hardware huh ? Wink).

Everything can be optimized, and you are incredibly lucky to have EA finally questioning themselves about their PC ports. But yep let's blame EA somehow cuz you know, that's what nfohump does, blaming publishers every now and then.

Although gotta admit : NFOHump would be so dead without the constant hate about every developper. The only active thread would have been about MGS5 and Mad max then, and guess what they have in common ? Good performances on low end rigs. What a coincidence !

I see no harm in people telling you things you got wrong, based upon actual facts, not some made up stuff you created in your mind.

Can you quote correctly or are you always using posts from yesterday as a base to still have a "valid" argument? I don't care, honestly.

Else that forum would be dead Laughing

OH YES VERY LUCKY Aww Yeah

See, YOUR OPINION is not the issue, passages like this are the issue. No holy Publishers and Devs, we are not worthy of your "hard effort" creating 60 fps in your holidays.

Because this is the hump and no one is allowed to have their freedom of speech and thinking differently about all the shitsticks we got over the course of those past years Poker Face So SHUT UP AND BE THANKFUL THE GODS NOTICED US.

This is almost too good to be true. I hope it's not another free DLC fest like Witcher 3. These "free DLC" were quite lame and I could understand why they were free.

Proper DLC for NFS would be free cars and what not (like the current paid DLC for previous NFS games).

I thought Hot Pursuit "2" was the new one? Oops! Oh well, sadly my point remains; I'm not familiar enough with the maps to recognise them. Any of the NFS titles to be honest.

This.

1998 (?) = NFS 3: Hot Pursuit
2002 = NFS 6: Hot Pursuit 2
<franchise dies in the meantime)
2010 = NFSlostcount: Huehue Pursuit
2012 = NFSstilllost: Most Wanted, which obviously sits on the "HP" side of the franchise; this is Huehue Pursuit 2 really.

Edit: Wikipedia says the below. I renumbered it from the table of contents, taking out No Limits (mobile game) and both Shift games.

Quote:

1 The Need for Speed (1994)
2 Need for Speed II (1997)
3 Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit (1998)
4 Need for Speed: High Stakes/Road Challenge (1999)
5 Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed/Porsche 2000 (2000)
6 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 (2002)
7 Need for Speed: Underground (2003)
8 Need for Speed: Underground 2 (2004)
9 Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005)
10 Need for Speed: Carbon (2006)
11 Need for Speed: ProStreet (2007)
12 Need for Speed: Undercover (2008)
13 Need for Speed: Nitro (2009)
14 Need for Speed: World (2010)
15 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2010)
16 Need for Speed: The Run (2011)
17 Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012)
18 Need for Speed: Rivals (2013)
19 Need for Speed (2015)

Past 2003/2004 the franchise has had no direction. While not a huge fan of the Underground ones, those still had enjoyable racing. The first Most Wanted was already bad and with Carbon and onwards the franchise died as far as I'm concerned. I can't count the Shift games in 2009/2011 as NFS games, even compared to the old games those 2 are really something different entirely.

na werelds, cmon. the first most wanted was awesome, but everything after was shit. hp2 2002 was shit too, same goes for underground2 (atleast for me). hp and high stakes were great too (though high stakes was just a advanced hp). nfs2 was too cartoonish for my taste back in the day, though it delivered nice gfx effects with the special edition and its 3dfx support. and the first one? classic! local head to head via lan was awesome on the point to point tracks

they just should make a remake of porsche unleashed and i would be happy Smile or do the same with ferrari

What the fuck did I just watch? Terrible physics, cars booping each other like rubber balls.

Damn those disco inferno light effects. Everything seems to glow just to make sure you can see it. Winter daylight looks nice but the game seems to be way too arcade.

No, it was not. Driving had already gone to shit, it was "cinematic".

HP2 (the real one) wasn't great, but it was still better than most shit that came after it.

Driving was shit before Porsche, first and second were bad. We used to laugh with how bad those games were in the handling department back in the days.

To me and most of my friends when we heard NFS, we already knew what to expect. Porsche and the underground ones was a different case but for all the rest (shift being something completely different)... no that driving always felt awkward.

Edit: Ah well, I never got why this franchise had such a following. Even in later years when I tried some of them again because people were giving me the 'its so awesome' stories I disliked the driving in them. Maybe they are just not for me (and no it's not about arcade or sim ).

you have to judge the first nfs in the context of the time when it came out. must have been mid 1994. for that time the gfx, the sound which was sampled from real engine, the videos made with real cars (they almost crashed the lambo -> therefore it was decided not to do that again) and the handling too -> everying outstanding

I said the driving, so let's stick to that... no it wasn't outstanding. And yes I was judging it at the time, when I was actually playing the damn thing and other games I would compare it to.

Should be 1995/1996, had it on DOS and it came with my Sega Saturn, tho if I remember correctly we played it before that on my friends 3DO.

Edit: now don't get me wrong, the entire package was great. The only reason I stuck with it was: that aside from the handling it was impressive. But me and my friends were all on the same page about the handling... shitty.

Personally I have fond memories of two NFS games, the first one which was rather ahead of its times and "fresh" in terms of what it was trying to do (apart from the older Test Drive, there weren't many games like that around), and of course Porsche Unleashed, which for me is both the fascinating peak of the NFS formula and also its end. I'm willing to bet that most people didn't have their hands on it in LATE 1994 (since that was when it released, and I doubt there were that many 3DO owners), 1995 would be more realistic I'd even argue 96 for most people.

That being said: Indycar, Daytona USA, Nascar, Rave Racer,...
I'd list some of the 2d ones as well, but I know you'd whine on that.
If we'd take 96 in mind I'd have more.

I do think that being 'first' (since you were going for that) doesn't excuse a game of having crappy handling. It was unresponsive and had cases of stuttering.

Now I don't mind that you enjoyed it, that for you it was good enough. But I can't agree one bit on: NFS handling gone to shit after Porsche, it was well before that already.

Could it be that the whole experience made you judge the handling better than it was? I played the 3DO version 5 weeks ago when I was setting up my retrobox and it performed the same way as I remembered.

Edit: well one nicer thing was that I didn't have to use those 3DO pads this time! Razz
