game is so damn boring after you finish the story..

tried to liberate some outposts in areas not really explored by the campaign but i just can't be doing the same all over again. the story covers like only half of the map, the rest is the same filler repetitive shit like in the other half with nothing to see. game is unbalanced at everything

they could have just cut half the map and sell it later as a dlc with new story or something

can't imagine how people didnt get bored at 60hours...i have like 25

I managed an hour and 6 minutes according to steam. But lets just say an hour cause I did spend some time configuring AA in nvidia inspector and whatnot. Laughing

Under normal circumstances I'd have bought this game and would have been content with its useful 25-30 hrs (rather too few for an open world game) but with my exceptionally very limited budget this year (courtesy of the government) I had to decide what to get and what not to. Got Metal Gear 5 and will most likely get Hitman and/or Just Cause 3 in December. After reading reviews and comments here I'm glad I didn't go for this one Very Happy

Most people here really enjoy(ed) the game. Did you just read the current page or what? Very Happy

40 hours and I'm now at the 3rd region (cleared the first 2 completely).

Why am I not bored yet... Well it's pretty simple: I'm having fun
I get why people are not that fond of it, I had the same with collecting stuff in Ass Creed or Tomb Raider... I just wasn't having any fun during it. With Max the vehicle and melee combat is fun enough to keep me going. Not that it is challenging tho.

Had the same in JC2 that had me playing 100+ hours, you could call it repetitive but... I just had fun. Smile

Exactly, that's one of the worst flaws a game can have for me personally. Unless the repetitive activity is extremely fun and satisfying, but that's hard to produce. One of the most recent examples for me would be assaulting an enemy ship in AC Black Flag.

Not to start a long discussion here, but i read from more people on this and other boards, that MGS5 is pretty repetive too.

It's for the level of Threat in an area. Destroy sniper towers, scarecrows, convoys, defuse minefields and wipe out camps to lower that threat and make the area safer while unlocking new upgrades.

I like this game. I can see how it is repetitive, but MGS5 isn't? It has similarly brain dead enemies. I should have bought this rather than MGS5. Now I own both. Wink I like the visuals. Much better than MGS5. The world does feel ... barren. Imagine what would Rockstar do with this world. In that sense, I do feel a little let down, but still, not bad.

Avalanche has always been poor at making a game which isn't repetitive after an hour. Same for JC1,JC2 and I believe JC3 as well.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Idk about Mad Max but enemies in MGSV are not brain dead imo.

Honestly, people have been throwing around "repetitive" for every game (even GTA V on release) now. I really don't trust this impression of a game anymore.

MGS even with it's obvious flaws was a game to enjoy, just as much as I enjoy Mad Max, even though I only manage to play it in a few bursts.

most games are repetitive but many of them dont feel like it, mad max is unbalanced, you unlock almost everything very early in the game

Yeah, Avalanche has never balanced their unlocks well. Within a few hours, everything is open to you in all their games. Their lack of progression system is what makes their games so repetitive which is why it's difficult to play their game for an extended period of time.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

And most games are also unbalanced, there are very few games that have unlocked perks perfected or even just done right. That being said, yes it is still a flaw. Smile

I have no problem with people calling this repetitive tho, I can see it. I just don't experience it as much because while I'm doing the same things I'm still having fun with it.

JC3 will be exactly the same. Maybe some will prefer it over this since you'll have a bit more to play with... while this one was more limited due to the wasteland and Mad Max IP.

They should have had motorbikes in tho! That wasn't a restriction!

yeah, motorbikes and more desert like areas..that place was the single best area from the entire map couse its the only one different from the rest of them...they couldve done more of that

also while the fighting is good at first, you realise thats all there is to it, no new significant moves or anything unlike batman for example where it dosent get stale

Bought it at GMG. Smile
