Is anyone having this issue where the games crashes (to desktop with Windows' crash window) straight after you press 'Pause'. In safe mode it seems to be working but in a full screen it's crashing every time I press 'Pause' after starting the game. Changing DirectX from version 11 to 10.1 or 10 has not solved this issue.

The actual reason is that the game doesn't like 6K DSR resolution. Laughing Second highest works just fine. (I will post some video footage later on) Wink

Quote:
Rockstar has said that GTA Online is its priority right now as 8 million players log in every week, suggesting that single-player DLC for GTA 5 isn’t coming any time soon – if at all.

All development staff who worked on GTA 5 are now working on GTA Online.

“Right now our focus is on GTA Online which has exceeded our expectations,” design director Imran Sarwar told IGN when asked if any single-player DLC was in the works.

“We currently have all key members of the team that launched Grand Theft Auto V focused on supporting GTA Online in every capacity.”

What a shame about the SP DLC...I hope they will come with a proper SP DLC next year then, and hopefully with a different story/protagonist, because the world is amazing, just need the proper story. Sad

I see they're amazed with Online and most of Online is real fun, but neglecting the SP DLC for that is just a no go. It's been an SP series, there's no excuse.

wouldn`t bet any money on it,they can`t even come up with proper MP content aside from reskins.wonder what all their developers are doing all day

Aren't all of these online DLCs for free? What is the ROI of them? Online is one time payment. What are they seeing from the online mode? Is there a microtransaction system I don't remember?

I doubt such a model is that successful, even on consoles. What more, online money making is not difficult at all. So the question stands, what is the ROI?

@BettyShikle Who are you to judge the abilities of others that make content for a game? How has most of the DLC for Online been a reskin? The cars, the guns and all the rest?

Sorry there's a fine line between knowing something, criticizing it and just straight out pretending things that are not true b/c you can't bother informing yourself

And Leo has a good point, I haven't paid a single dime more for Online and got GTA V cheap on Nuveem back then, the content for it has doubled since release, even with the belated Heists.

It's a pretty strange situation indeed to decipher. Maybe there are some obscure ways which generate loads of money for them, like installing self-activating-online-ready bitcoin miners in the Social package and whatnot.

In all seriousness, I remember reading some time ago that Online is more profitable than we imagine. I think this was the interview: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/take-two-we-don-t-need-to-release-gta-yearly/0128257 (even before the next gen/PC "era")
I just wish I could actually play the online, between the loading times and inhumane lag it's critical, to the point that when I see someone in the game, he instantly -and constantly- disappears only to reappear 100 meters away from where he was before Okay Laughing

Looking at the screenshot it looks like crap. But that is because of the compression. You should saved it with 95-100% quality.
Gonna look at that 6,5GB (!) video.

I just tried to play the video with VLC. There seems to be some codec problem as i get many artifacts every few frames.

But what it remembered me of: People with lower resolution can't see the better picture quality that you might see with your resolution. For me the uncompressed video (sure?) looks worse than 1080p with added AA.

Don't really get why people make this, it looks bigger, nothing else. The only thing it's useful for is minimizing issues like jaggies then again this doesn't warrant the performance decrease for upping the res to that.

It was 100% quality but .JPEG is lossy. Now I have uploaded it as .PNG.

I suggest you to test that video with MPC-HC + madVR.

Yea worked with MPC now.
But my point stands: It's not possible for me on 1080p to notice the higher resolution.
In fact, i prefer to use some sexy Reshade profile SMAA profile over DSR. Probably makes the picture much clearer through shaders, but with much less performance needed (like Harry wrote)

I envy you. Downsampling spoiled me. I can't stand a game I have to play at native res.

I do vastly prefer gedosato over DSR though, but sadly, it only works on dx9 titles so atm.

SMAA cleans things up nicely but it doesn't handle temporal aliasing unless the developers specifically implement SMAA 2X and those others (T2X, 4X and T2S for Crossfire/SLI compatibility.) though I prefer to use both downsampling and SMAA but yeah in newer games there's a massive performance hit even at "just" a 50% increase in screen resolution / pixel amount plus a sharp increase of VRAM usage, looks fantastic though but for most gamers the framerate probably wouldn't be good enough to warrant downsampling on standard GPU models.
(Could take a screenshot comparison but aliasing shows best in motion - such as in a video - and especially stuff like shader aliasing which is more difficult to fully eliminate.)

Wouldn't you get better, more appealing, results by lowering the resolution/DSR factor and turning on some of the nicer AA settings? Like TXAA or even MSAA?
