So, I've been playing this lately - got it as one of 3 games with my PS4 last saturday. And DAMN, does this one look beautiful I don't think I've seen this level of detail in a sandbox game before. The lighting and particle effects are stunning, city looks sharp and beautiful. Watch_Dogs turned out to be a marketing lie, but it seems we got our Watch_Dogs anyway
Gameplay is also very entertaining. I just wish the story/characters weren't as derpy. This whole "young rebel" stuff is infuriatingly childish and tiresome. InFamous 1&2 (esspecially 2) were so much better in this regard.
Just picked up this one yesterday and despite it looking great, the city, enemies and gameplay are really bland, I remember prototype 2 being much better. I can return the game and get my 18£ back but i think ill keep it since there arent many ps4 exclusives to choose from

Same for me: very eye candy at its time of release (now The Wicher 3 and Batman AK have done better) but boring as hell....
This is this kind of game that puts 10% of its gameplay effortd the main scenario and 90% on 3/4 different side activities that they duplicate 10000 times on the map (do u also remember watchdogs, assassin's greed ??)

Infamous games are like that ... still have to finish part 2 on the PS3 ... they have a good rythm of wow and bore ... its one of those games you have to play in Winter ...
Sice I've got ps4 slim in december, I am catching up on some games.
Loved Bloodborne, Last Guardian and liked Uncharted Lost Legacty...
Now I've just finished Infamous: Second Son and it's fantastic. I was expecting not to like it since I do not care much for open world games with a lot of collectibles but I just loved this game.
I never played any previous because I did not had ps3, so I did not knew what to expect.
The graphics and sound look fantastic. The rain effects just hold up so well and the music fits the tone. You could not say it's a 4 years old game wtf.
The story is ok except for some weird "all of sudden" lines coming from characters. I think it's enough of a story to make it through the game and main character is good but some friendships and so on just come out of nowhere.
The game itself reminded me of Marc Ecko getting up and prototype (but better). There was also some Saint's Row in there but I cannot really put my finger on it.
I somehow enjoyed graffiti parts a lot.
I wish there was an exploreable first part of the game except for intro.
Anyway - solid game and I liked the gameplay loop. One thing for sure - the tv power is fucking stupid and useless. So is rock power at the end. But flame and neon are good.

I enjoyed it too - it was one of the first games I played on my original ps4. It's a solid enough game and - as you say - it looks really good. Looked even better back when it came out (in comparison to other open world titles) but it holds up well even today. Ran pretty well too. 30 FPS, sure, but felt smooth and nice.
But...
It's actually the weakest InFamous game, IMO. I enjoyed the first one more for its time, and the second was an absolute blast. Both had better story and characters. The powers were a bit more standard (main was electricity - you just drew power from the lines, cars etc), but they were more set - there was no switching, you just had what you had. I really wish Sony remastered these games for the ps4.
Got this on ps plus free few months back and finally got round to playing it a little. Bearing in mind the age, it looks stunning - the HDR effects on my pro are probably the best I've seen.
too many other games competing for my time to invest seriously into this one though, sadly
Want to buy this just to check out how it looks on the OLED / HDR. Game itself seems decent enough + huge fan of open world so...
Too bad i will be very poor this and next month...
Just bought it, and the game has major technical issues:
- everything is so FUCKING DARK (HDR on LG OLED C8 )
- it seems a lot of sounds are missing or they are incorrectly mixed. City feels dead due to silence, no ambient sounds, quiet explosions etc. It's really off-putting
HDR in this game is extremely dark from what I've tried.
Just disable it and go SDR. The game still looks amazing and it's actually a good game. I enjoyed it a lot
