A filling cabinet has fallen upon an intern, he's desperately trying to reach up to the computer and hit that big ol release button.

Quote: | Those inevitable wins felt empty, and that's really the biggest problem with Mad Max. The film franchise has always transcended the summer blockbuster genre, providing worlds and characters and scenarios that have stuck in my mind. Mad Max the game is the opposite; it's got chase scenes and big explosions and bloody fights, but nothing to remember it for. In spite of some annoying technical issues and questionable design, Mad Max is functional, but it's fluff, plain and simple.
|
Quote: | "After the progressive characterization of this summer's excellent Mad Max: Fury Road, the game's treatment of its few women is especially disappointing. The closest thing Mad Max has to a female lead, a woman not coincidentally named Hope, is a concubine for the villain and a love interest for Max. Her sole purpose in the plot is to make the bad guys more evil and provide motivation for the hero to fight. She's a damsel in distress stereotype, and it's more disheartening after having seen such a great example of the opposite in theaters just a few months ago." |
 |
Polygon is a parody of itself at this point. Reminds me of some idiot I saw on the Fury Road IMDB forum who said Furiosa should be the main character of all future Mad Max movies.

Enters: "Go North"
Spoiler: | Well it read like a text rpg ffs! |
|
The intern starts crawling North and comes upon a fork in the cubicles. To the left lies the toilets where he can hear a strange noise, to the right lies the bosses office where he sees a light.

sounds a lot like mordor:
Quote: | Mad Max's combat system is too dumbed down to enjoy, and repetitive activities such as searching for scrap and invading small enemy camps gets old fast. Mad Max offers some great experiences, but for a game that tries to impose the realities of survival on you, it does a poor job of following up on this pressure. Mad Max is too focused on providing you with an open-world that's filled with missions, and not focused enough on making those missions worth your time. |
Quote: | Stand in front of oncoming traffic, however, and you can endure getting run over five or six times before you start to worry about your health. In fact, I got so good at being struck by cars that I eventually learned (unofficially) how to jump into the windshield of an oncoming car and perform a triple-misty-flip, landing gracefully on my feet. It's impossible in theory, silly to witness, and easily repeatable. |

4/5 stars.
I'll know I will love this game to bits. Fallout meets GTA.
Even if the game would truly be a 5/10, such a sandbox - It's an auto win for me.

Ridiculous, they can just encrypt the key parts of a game.

The game is running at a solid 60 fps for me maxed out at 2560x1440. That's on a 3570k @ 4.4 ghz and SLI 970.
Graphics are decent, the AA method they use is blurry as hell though.
Already found something I don't like about the gameplay - only specially marked objects can be climbed. Which looks pretty stupid when two shipping containers are next to each other and only one of them is climbable.

Dat performance
Very high preset, solid 60 fps. Very much Just Cause vibe from gameplay.
(2500 non-k, GTX 970)
Love the intro and how the game starts, gives the right Max vibe, and I got to say this Max sounds more like him than Mad Magoo from the movie.
Melee feels quite nice, has some weight behind it. Especially noticeable when you do the stronger attack.
Car handling is a bit on the heavy side.
Only being able to climb at certain points annoy me, but that is in any game that does it like this.
Too tired to play more, there's some settings that I can put on ultra... but I'll play with that tomorrow.

*it's something*
Having an AAA game that doesn't run like garbage is already a reason to be happy nowadays.
I suspect that the gameplay itself will not blow me away (am fully equipped to face the green pear), but as long as the Max has more than two buttons to press and the car handling is fun, I'm more than okay with it. Let the wait for the CPYdemo commence!

Just played 2 hours. It's great. It is very easy to get lost in the athmosphere, just as expected. You get what you've seen on the long play sessions, nothing less.
Worth every ~15 EUR you would pay for this.
I wasn't one for the Witcher III. I'm curious about MGS, but the only thing that can dethrone this game for me this year is likely Fallout 4.
Edit, tired. Need to sleep. Want to play.
