Ugh, fuck me.. that's just ridiculous and makes absolutely no sense in relation to the MCU so far. Tony Stark fought AGAINST the government taking control, remember? Iron-Man 2, refusing to hand over his gear and report to the military. Now he's supposed to have just thrown all that away?
Egh. Moronic and senseless.

I agree with sabin.
Do you think the Civil War storyline was a reaction to Batman v. Superman, or was it always the intention to have the story develop this way?

Meh. Silly off-hand explanation for something that was pretty much a core tenet of his entire character. Sorry, I prefer the way the original storyline handled it because it made SENSE that way, now it's just flip-flopping for the sake of it.

We know RDJ is signed for Avengers 3 (and maybe 4.. it's unclear because it's a two parter), so no.

He's signed on for the next two Avenger films, so I doubt that's going to happen yet. His contract is up after Infinity War Part 2 (iirc, consolitis, confirmation? ) so unless Iron Man 4 comes out before that, I think Avengers "4" will be his final time in the suit. They may kill Stark and replace him with someone else then.
Civil War spoiler, comics but may apply to movie too so don't open unless you're sure;
Spoiler: |
Steve Rogers dies during the Civil War, with Bucky - "Winter Soldier" - taking over as Captain America.
|
This would fit since he, too, is out of contract after the next film.

Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, and Loki have been confirmed for "Avengers 3" (which might or might not also imply, at least for some of them, an appearance in the 4th one).
RDJ has no longer a longterm contract, instead he signs up for each individual movie. For example he was kicked out of Cap3 when he requested a bigger role than what they originally gave him - in the end thanks to Feige negotiations resumed and as I said he signed for Cap 3 and Avengers 3.
Also, by the time Cap 3 and Thor 3 will be out their respective actors will have completed 5 films out of their 6 film contract.
Then how are they going to appear in the Avengers 3/4 two parter?
Maybe they will be in only one of those, or maybe it will count as only one movie (Thor's actor has implied as such but maybe this only applys to his contract), or maybe they will renegotiate a contract for a multitude of films or maybe like RDJ they will have movie-to-movie contracts.

Well, I hope they all stick around for a while. It's a nice cast together and it's enjoyable to have them together, even if it's only a small amount of time on screen.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

I can't understand the whole spiderman hype for the marvel movies, honestly.
Don't give a shit if he appears, don't give a shit which side he'll choose, don't give a shit what will happen to him.

Ummm.... if he works well in the mcu... then he'll be in MCU
and it'll be glorious
imagine if they gave spidey a daredevil treatment, or guardians of the galaxy treatment, or punisher warzone treatment, or heck even avengers 1 treatment... on a huge scale, with disney money, and disney behind it, and make it fit and work.
Unlike DCU... different actors for each fucking role...
what ruined Avengers 2 is that they couldn't get QS actor from X5...
Apart from the pacing issues... it would have been nice if fox allowed it.

Spidey is the best | Not movie spidey.
Guy will start from zero against well established and much more interesting characters in the movie universe already. And sony will still have some say on what can be done to the character on film, so my expectations are null.

I'm talking about the fact that Kevin Feige is following the MCU chronology, in which Tony/Iron-Man was most certainly against the government taking control of anything. Now he's "changed his mind" >_>

The Marvel Cinematic Universe ... few shittier things have ever made it to the big screen.
It's boring. It's super-simple. It's cringeworthy. It's for kids.
And hundreds of millions love it. Avengers 2 was so fucking boring, it took me many tried to get through it. Also the one-liner jokes? so. very. weak.

I don't really think MCU's Stark is that much of a rebel, tbh. He was opposing government sometimes, true, but it was mostly because he didn't trust it not to use him/his tech for other things and agendas, not because he found authority itself to be something bad. He didn't have any problems with forcing his OWN authority down everybody's throats on several occasions. Essentially: if anyone else tried what will happen in Civil War, he'd be the first one to oppose it. But if HE'S the one behind the plan, it's a different story from his strangely twisted perspective. He's the genius, after all, can't go wrong. Well, there was that one time with the robots and stuff... Well, maybe two or three little crisises, but stop whining, it's time to get over it
It's hypocrytical, I guess, but it wouldn't be the first time. They guy's kind of a dick if you haven't noticed
Tbh, my one problem with Civ War storyline right now, is that Age of Ultron kinda fucked it up. We just had a story about Stark's marvelously grand plan going to shit and Cap3 is essentially the same thing, just dressed a little differently. It's like Stark's character is on the loop - not to mention it'll be yet another movie with him on the center stage.

Continuing our discussion about who is in which movie and contracts many people speculate that once Chris Evans' contract ends (which as discussed above should be by the time Avengers 3/4 releases) that he'll be replaced by The Winter Soldier character and actor.
Well, Chris Evans said that he would more than love to extend his contract with Marvel so perhaps he'll stay as Cap for a lot more movies.. http://collider.com/chris-evans-eager-to-extend-marvel-contract-past-avengers-4/
Quote: | “Listen, if Marvel wants me they got me. I’ve never had such a relationship where you have such—I mean look at my resume, I’m used to being on set being like, ‘Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?’ Marvel just can’t stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It’s wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it’s like a playground as an actor.” |

Evans will reprise his role for Captain America 2 in 2014 and Avengers 2 in 2015. For the Avengers, he was said to have a salary between $2 million to $3 million.
First Leading Role Salary: Even so, though, that likely seems like an insane amount of money to Evans - after all, even for his first Marvel role back in Captain America: The First Avenger, he was only paid $300,000.
compared to Iron Man 2 (2010) - $10,000,000
which is a jump from - Iron Man (2008) $500,000
