Wow, I didn't think that would ever get finished. I might check it out. Wow, 3gb in six files, not including the first patch.

NWN2 - Untold Tales Of Tolkien Mod
http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn2/module/untold-tales-tolkien-indanthrine-prince-nwn2-edition
Quote: |
Welcome to the NWN2 edition of the NWN1 module of the same name! This is no mere copy - much has been expanded upon, altered and improved. This module is the first in a planned series of three. This is the initial release. The module has been tested in full many times and is in a very stable state - no known serious problems. We will be allowing about a month of feedback before putting together a FINAL release by the end of the year. Enjoy the module, keep supporting NWN2!
The history of Middle Earth is sewn with legends. Exceptional people renowned as heroes of their time; or held in terrible infamy. Many such tales are widely told and remembered. But equally, are the Untold Tales; those that were drowned out or overlooked amidst the pressures of their time of telling. What follows is one such tale, and it is told over a number of chapters, this being the first...
On the eastern borders of Rhovanion lies a small rural village. One of many such, scattered amongst the fertile farming plains. It is here that the focal figure of this tale begins their journey. An apprentice to a respected scholar finds themself trading the neighbourly, quiet village life for something quite different, when the life they knew is ripped out from under them.
A new path, but of what? Justice? Revenge? Perhaps simply a new life of adventure and discovery. No matter the path taken, the events that follow change that apprentice and the lives of those close to them. This chapter of the tale takes the hero across many leagues, including the bustling markets of Esgaroth on the Long Lake; crumbling crypts; the wildlands of Rhun and it's volatile mountain ranges; macabre Easterling fortresses and the shadowy gloom of Mirkwood.
This is a tale of loyalty, love and friendship. Of hatred, justice and revenge. All play their part in the making of this untold hero. This Untold Tale is but the first part of their incredible story...

Game best suited for 1-3 players.(Does not include NPC companions) For new characters, leveling to approximately level 12. Game length approximately 20-30 hours

Althought I own NWN2 I have never modded it, what are some 'must have' mods? Not just to make it pretty but mods that enhance the gameplay or fix gaming issues etc.
Thanks

If you're going to play official campaign, OC makeover is a very good choice. It makes the game use SoZ (Storm of Zehir) rest and death rules in the base nwn2, which is really cool and makes the game a whole lot more challenging.
Another one would be Kaedrin's PRC pack - many more classes, prestige classes, feats, spells.
Sadly, though, these two are not fully compatibile.

There's also "NWN2 Client Extension" which solves some (kind of) engine issues.

Thanks are there any mods or hacks that make the camera even remotely bearable? I forgot how bloody awful all three of the playing styles are

Nope, I don't think so. I found it tolerable with exploration+strategy modes. I had to bind camera changing to different, closer key, though.

I have just reinstalled it and now I know why I only managed to play for about 10 hours last time, the camera is just so awful, i tried and tried to put up with it. I know there a few 'fixes' about but nothing seems to make it actually playable (well for me anyway)

I have a good look on http://nwvault.ign.com but I cannot find what I am looking for (if it exists at all) is there a mod that marks quest realted NPS's on the map? Unless I am missing something in the options? At the moment I have to walk about talking to all and sundry, I would prefer to know who is worth talking to or/and who to hand finished quests into.
Thanks

Or you could just use the walkthrough from Gamebanshee.
Yes, these old games really make us waste our time running around talking to non essential npcs. Spoiler: | |
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I don't mind talking to non essential NPC's. I only have a problem with no quest markers or no quest markers for whoever I am looking for, for a particular quest. There is nothing to indicate where I need to go or who i need to speak to. I can only assume this is a glitch. Game is fully up to date.
Therefore I asked if there is a mod that adds quest markers/persons related to the quest on the map.

A glitch that there aren't quest markers? Uhh, no. That's by design. You're the first person I've ever read about requesting quest markers in a game like NWN2. Don't know that there are any mods that add something like that though.

Get off your high horse for a moment, you obviously misunderstood me. There are absolutely no quest markers, nothing. I am currently in Neverwinter and have mangesd to find the inn by sheer luck. Nothing is marked on the map, no people,no buildings nothing. That is why I asked about mods.
Next time you feel so holier than thou about something, take into consideration that I have been playing these sort of games, probably before you were born, I might not be the most fantastic player but I do research and look into things before I post.

Thanks J Beckham, I assumed something was wrong. I think I will reinstall.
On the off chance though, do you possibly know of a mod that adds all the important markers for you? I could not find anything on the vault.

At what point was I on a high horse? Calm your ass down. You asked a question. I answered it. Period. No need to be a dick.
There are NO quest markers in NWN. All that is marked are the important places the JBeckman already mentioned. If you had done the research as you claimed you would know this and that it's not a bug. Go ahead and reinstall, it won't change.
And I doubt you've been playing these games before I was born. Who's on the high horse now?

Been a while since I played it, but isn't it all journal based? There should be a quest log that tells you where to go and what to do. The map should have notes on it that identify landmarks as I recall, but no quest markers as such. It's essentially the same system from the Infinity engine games (Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, etc.).

There were TONS of mods and new modules back in the day, it was a huge ass repository on ign or some shit like that.
Strange that they didn't migrate at least part of that content to the nexus... might be on some other site though.

Been thinking about playing this again as the new Anno is shite. I have been looking for mods/apps that 'fix' the god awful camera (the one and only reason I stopped playing). does anyone know of any sure fire fixes? Thank you
