hmm, with the patch 1.08 as soon as i go to the inventory screen, map or whatever my cpu goes crazy, nearly 100%, otherwise ca 30%

Wouldnt surprise me if a lot of those bugs would be fixed if you start a new game.. been thinking about doing that with 1.08.
this will be the last game i buy from GoG though.. absolutely impossible to update.. even tried the downloadable patch from their site and it downloads extremely quick but its bugged and says i havent enough disk space (which i obviously have). its like they put 1% of their server capacity to the auto-update server and the rest to the manual download server. idiots.

Maybe you don't have enough space in C drive as patch .tmp files go there?

Random detail in case it's related: Galaxy calculates space necessary for patching on C:, regardless of install location. I suppose GoG patches do the same.

doesnt solve the autoupdate.. will try to download the patch again. got 10 GB free on C, hopefully that is enough.

I only have problems with GOG in the day of the update. Their servers blow up and nothing works properly.

Still not fixed, the big wolf at the end just growls alot and stands there banging the floor. If I blast him out the way, it still says I need to kill him

That is the reason I chose Steam this time, updating Witcher 2 via GOG was bad enough and their client app "Galaxy" is probably still pretty rough though I haven't used it myself.

Galaxy may suck but at least it allows you to rollback to a previous update, I believe. Good luck with that on steam 
Traditional GoG is still the best option (for cases like this), at least you can play it with the version you want, provided you can still find the old update files... I think
