99.9% sure that it will come out about same time as movie to sell off of movie hype. Because till this day they have only announced wow expansions at blizzcon and now they'll announce it at gamescom, which means that they'll want to start beta before blizzcon or at that time to get the game ready for movie launch.
and i logged in to see this jungle that should have been in the game from the start ... lazy cunts . 6.1 and 6.2 biggest con patches ever
One curious detail Activision/Blizzard Q2 results will be published on August 4th.
I unsubscribed in may and will not use that offer, because this exp is really utter crap.
free users arent counted as subs so u dont really do urself any favors there. just dont buy their games or subscription is the way to vote, dont deny urself a week of gametime to take advantage of, i had fun for two nights in this jungle and trolling around in raid finder in my tank spec as healer paladin rofl

yes its hilarious after 10+ years of gear cheating with boe gear in my inventory i can still enter raids and fuck over 24 paying people with this easy as fuck shit exploit, stealing their gear and losing them time cause the devs dont fix these loopholes
at least i was still clicking some buttons, i should have just gone in and died and not respawned like an ubertroll
I could pretty easily write a few thousand words right now, but I did my best to keep this brief.
I began working at Blizzard way back in October of 2003, and every day of my experience here has been shared with you, the players, and content creators, artists, bloggers, AddOn authors, podcasters, streamers, forum trolls, and— man, anyone remember the old Off-Topic forum back in the day? That place was just absolutely cuckoo bananas.
Anyway, Blizzard—and the community that surrounds it—has defined almost my entire adult life, and I am just so absolutely grateful to all of my friends here for having such an incredible and positive impact on who I am, and who I am yet to become. I don’t think I’ve had to make any decisions as difficult as the one to leave Blizzard, but a new opportunity has come my way, and I’ve decided to take it.
While I think it’s all still sinking in, the other day I realized I actually get to be surprised by Blizzard announcements and releases again. Which, as a lifelong fan and rabid gamer it makes me giddy thinking about being able to sit in the audience at BlizzCon, watching a stream, or reading the newest blog posts, and seeing whatever’s in store next—for the first time.
I’m looking forward to what’s next, and wishing you a life of joy, insatiable curiosity, and happy gaming.
as long as there are more then one million subs why cancel? still more then any other mmorpg and alot of free money. so another 5 years is the minimum. it's not like blizzard got anything in the backhand ...
Totally depends on costs vs income, and since nobody here has any idea how much it costs to keep everything runing, you cannot really say a certain number
Plus they have so many other games that are actually bringing in more cash, so what reasons would they have to keep WoW up if they would lose out on it?
Plus look how the subs number crashed after people found out WoD was a shit exp, if the next is just as shit, no doubt that number will drop even more and it would become too expensive to have a proper team making another exp.

What does it mean to keep it running? I mean, they still bring updates for D2, so in that regard... wow will last forever ^^
Are you really comparing a simple update to D2 to the upkeep of servers of an MMORPG of that size?! (and not to mention the dev costs for an expansion....)

As said above, the game is still being played by 5 M of people, this is huge.
And it s still 13€/month (lolllllll)....
They are doing plenty of money with it, and it sure doesn't cost that much to develop new stuff.
I mean the engine is still overall the same as 2004.
Yes I did booted up the game the other day, and 10 years later they only tweaked the engine... (Yay they added real time shadows just like splinter cell 1, and yay they added transparent water just like Rayman 2 on psx)...
I see this game as counter strike 1.6, and it will never die.
It will only die when blizzard chooses it to die. Which means their next MMo I guess.
Workforce is cheaper now than in 2005, not to mention the cost of server renting today - it's way lower. So asking for 13 euros per month nowadays is just plain old ripoff (no matter I'm ocassionally paying sub for my brother, because it's still cheaper than to waste money going out and drinking in expensive clubs).
Just those 13 euro a month for those, let's say 6 mill. 13x6.000.000=963 million ($1.05 billion) per year.
While Hearthstone and HotS since their release (little over a year for Hearthstone now) brought in $1.25 billion in sales already.
So if that WoW number lowers, it's just not worth it.

Is never a good sign for a game like this, increase prices to make up for partly lost subscriber numbers (meaning they are struggling to keep it profitable).

I stopped playing and likely will never play WoW again... but man I don't want it to die, if only for nostalgic reasons. I think that no game has and probably no game will ever affect its playerbase (in both the good and bad sense) as much as WoW.
Anyone here who's actually hype for this? Or is it just me
I really want to see new classes, or some nice rework like what they did to Demolock a while back. But I have no clue what the next expansion will be about, I haven't played since 6.0
