Code:
Tut, a six-hour scripted event series about Tutankhamun, aka King Tut (1333 to 1323 BC), the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt whose famous golden sarcophagus has become one of the symbols of the ancient civilization.
A young Tut is thrust into power after the murder of his father. The neophyte ruler is forced to marry his sister in order to maintain the dynasty. Although Tut rules as Pharaoh, he is controlled like a puppet by three formidable men who plot against him and vie for the throne themselves. Against all odds, Tut grows from an insecure and manipulated prince to a hero on the battlefield, leading his kingdom into war and victory. Just as he takes control of his nation and his destiny, he is betrayed.

Ben is a fantastic actor however the trailer doesn't inspire confidence in this series quality..And it looks "fake" if you get my meaning.Too.."sterile", too "clean". It's no Rome for sure...I guess I'll give its pilot t a try just because of Ben Razz

Saw the first part last night and i must say its not extremely bad as what i expected it to be. The beginning was pretty hard because of all the clean sets, faces, cloth etc combined with some mediocre acting and people that look like they just sailed in from the west.

They do try to include gore though which is a plus for me. Story wise it could have been better and it feels familiar but it left me with the need of wanting to watch part 2 so i guess thats a good thing.

Also, hot chick!

The Egyptians wore fine linen and the wealthy wore animal fibers. All of these were considered to be the best quality and condition possible.

Peasants and workers of modest condition often wore nothing, but the garments made of flax was also worn by all people. Slaves often worked naked.

Royal clothing is particularly well documented, as well as the clothing and crowns of the Pharaohs.The pharaohs would wear leopard skins over their shoulders and added a lion’s tail that would hang from their belt.

I would not expect to see a show made of tut to look like they were all struggling to scrape two coppers together.

@moosenoodles

I wasn't talking about clothes but rather the way it is all presented on the screen (video filters etc stuff like that). It's too clean and sterile.It looks fake.

I am not quite sure how you would like it to look then. Very Happy I mean it has to be filmed its not real Smile

give me an example of how it should be viewed as if with the eyeball of the time. So I can grasp what it is you feel. If you mean it should be with zero filters and special shite then sure then thats fine but then you went on to say it makes it look clean and sterile, which normally things would look clean if they had no filters lol.

It's filmed in Marocco by the way.

Do you what I feel when I look at that picture? It's a film set. It's not "real". It looks too obvious it's a set.

@moosenoodles
Well.. You could check out, say, Agora or most old films depicting Ancient Egypt.(Cleopatra starring Elizabeth Taylor, for instance), even Rome(HBO, Egypt sets)

You''see a difference.

Some pictures from Agora:

PS Of course it doesn't mean that Tut is shit Wink It just distracts me a bit.

oh shit in those shots the sharpening of it all is intense, does it really come through on screen like that as well? Yes it does not need that enhance effect although its probably trying to look uber fanplastic on large HD screenings.
