My equipment is crack-ready so I managed to give this Formula a try. The PC didn't explode in the process so that's positive.
It's the same ol' Formula derp, only without the career. Handling is only marginally improved, sensitivity is hit and miss with the pad and mastering the cars is still very easy and accessible, you can spin only if you drive like Maldonado.
Once again it feels consolish as hell, which is not surprising really. Damage is also approximative as usual, but that's probably the first thing that will be modded.
It runs well here (60fps everything maxed out/smaa/1080p, 30fps cap in the replays for no reason), though truth to be told, the graphics are quite disappointing all things considered.
While models and circuits are okay, the IQ is very poor, it's all vaseline, mblur (that I disabled in the hardware_settings_config.xml), with the inevitable chromatic aberration and last but not least, the trademark horrible daylight yellow palette from F1 2010
Generally the quality is inconsistent, some tracks look better than others, rain and night (dat Singapore) on the other hand are well done.
As for the AI, I've only completed three quick races, and surprisingly (not xD) it's nothing impressive really. You can spot the same old scripts, random train modes, slow corners and the likes (hopefully that will be the second thing that will be modded). The mehest of mehs.
(nothing too fancy really) :

Haha yeah, it has been marketed as a 'needed reboot', but it's fundamentally the same game for the same audience, only with a lick of paint . If you're curious to give it a whirl you can grab one of the unlocked versions around (mine is the 3DM one) , then head to the rin heaven and you can find everything that you need in the official thread.
I haven't tried that voice feature because I don't own a headset (asocial_mode=on xD), but I noticed that you can gather some basic infos anyway in-game from the hud. #tacticoolF1

Oddly enough...I'm having very few issues right now.
I fixed the FFB as much sa possible by setting the Ltech profiler to 107%, this eliminates the horrid deadzone.
No crashes..apart from into other cars.
Blur is gone, but that Chronic Abortion is still there
60fps Ultra settings.
It does seem that these 970's seem to have magical powers, along with my AMD CPU.
Doesn't help with the lack of career mode, safety car etc, but it does seem playable to those with the magic setup. I wonder if Windows 10 also helps somehow?
Oh and WHY does the left rear wheel flicker on and off in 3rd person mode?!

So it looks like there's still no sun and clouds? Just the same empty skybox, generic lightning and the gray filter. How many years would Derpmasters need to create a decent F1 game?
I bet the AI is still fake as well.

Yeah, colors are definitely not right because of the strong yellowish palette, even when it's overcast the sky doesn't look exactly realistic. It's got that polluted "Mexico City" atmosphere. There are some clouds though, ugly but they're not missing
The biggest problem so far is the AI: I'm playing on Expert and for some unexplainable reason there is a 2-3 seconds difference in the CPU times between qualifying and racing (with the latter being the faster ones xD). Not to mention the complete lack of awareness, a shame really.
@stealthGR: I imagine we'll have to wait for the first mods to appear in order to have that. As far as I can see, there's only the wide TV one and the default "above the helmet" camera which is there for no reason whatsoever.

lol sure your first qualify lap in pcars with cold tires is ofc faster than the first cpus ones... if you simulate the rest you will be at the end of the field, its normal and no cheating ai!
he is talking about the times in qualifying and racing.since im not into f1 anymore i dont know about the tire and fuel stuff, maybe thats a reason. or most likely the ai fucks you over like it did in the last games

I'm not talking about the VERY FIRST lap done in qualifying.
You can do a dozen of laps (if you have enough time), each quicker than the previous one, stop when you feel you can't go any quicker while you're significantly ahead of the AI, go back to the pits with a minute or two left in the session and simulate the rest of it... and suddenly the AI moves in front of you, having pulled out of their asses laptimes they wouldn't have been able to do had you just stayed in the pits and kept the session running in real time.

havent experienced that in pcars, maybe u should decrease your difficult or it might be even a copy protection trigger.you wont hear much about that cause everyone owns legit version since years and most people who just yarred it wont notice such things

Nope. Dozens of times I qualified, got back to the pits early and maintained the same position until the end of the session.
