We got 23 cromosomepairs, their superhumen had added a 24th. And any chromosomal anomoly doesnt have to lead to death, we know very little and in future maybe its possible to add cromosomepair for some reason.
They didnt throw fireballs nor come out from hell cause they wanted it more realistic, which it is cause of that.

Becouse it is just based on doom. Its like a true movie, its based on a true story but not much in the movie is from what really happened, most is just made up.

Err ... we have 23 pairs of chromosomes, but there are 46 total.

The most well known condition associated with having an extra chromosome is trisomy 21 aka Down Syndrome. So you're telling me that Doom had super human retards killing people? Very Happy

I also said we have 23 pairs, so whats point of first line?

I know there are several conditions are associated with having extra chromosome. But still in this time we basicly know nothing of how a human body works. In far away future whats to say adding a chromosome might not make you superhuman instead of giving you down syndrome?
Doom is a futuristic movie, can you be absolutly sure that in say 100years we geneticly engineer our bodys?

Doom (the movie) sucked big time, huge dissapointment .... in the game you didnt have a fucking squad ..... only that fact there changes everything, and the rock being the "main" guy is pretty retarded since the rock cannot be taken seriously, anyways 1 * out of 5.

Damn I didn't expect the hating to be poured on this movie so roughly. I didn't think it was all bad. I do hate the Rock, and it doesn't really have anything to do with DOOM but I thought it was an alright movie. Like the way they used squads, I liked that more than the game. That is a little bit smarter than sending one guy in to do everything. Honestly I thought it would be worse, like Tomb Raider was a pile of shit, and Bloodrayne looks horrible already. I wont even bother with that one. Kristanna Loken is not hot and she is not a good actress. She shouldnt be in movies.

Well they should atleast keep the real story of a game when they make a movie out of it.

When i look on my DOOM 3 box it says and i quote: "The gateway to hell is open"...this is the story --> dig --> find a door --> open it --> unleash hell --> have a shit load of "different" creatures beeing unleashed --> kill or be kill

SO basicly, that fuck didnt do anything mention above, so name it by something else, remove that creature in a wheel chair and there you go, you'll never know its something base on the DOOM game

Also, any jackass with a squad of 10 can rush any room without worrying, cause your team got you covered, but in the game, you are ALONE ... gods knows where, fighting god knows what, anything can happen at any moment and simply put you can have a mental breakdown .... so yea, this movie sux, nothing in this movie has anything to do with doom expect pinky.

I didnt think the film was that bad but it ain't the best film based on a game which everyone is saying. The monsters were pretty weak. I think resident evil is better.
I'd rate it 2/5 stars

so these "superior humans" had a total of 24 cromosomes?

Might be 24x2 =48 cromosomes, but chimps have 48 cromosomes.

Me and my friends laughed out so much while watching, I mean it's a comedy masterpeice! Like the guy who when doing a mistake each time takes his knife out and makes a cross on his arm. I mean we still joking about while gaming! (Oh gee you died there, nasty mistake! (Makes a "knife-marking" gesture))

Except thats when someone has a triplicate chromosome 21 formation, not when someone has an entirely new chromosome pair (aka 24). Which is not related to retardation at all. So the viability will be completely different.

Nice way of butchering science to diss a movie.

As for manifesting plasma ball in the palms of their hands, that would have been absolutely ridiculous, and getting into fantasy, rather then sci-fi.

Doom has no story, thay had to add new material otherwise the movie would have been even more shite then it already is. What did you want? To see one guy shooting demons for an hour and a half without saying a word, and without communicating with anyone else? Yeah right, get real.Laughing

I just saw this movie, and I have to say I don't like it. I know it might not be as 'real', but I would have liked if they followed the doom story, with the gates of hell and everything.
As for the squad-think I think that was a good move from the directors, as I would have been fairly boring with just a single person.

And, of course, the acting sucked in a lot of places.
I would give this movie a 3/10 or 4/10, but not more.

I actually liked The Rock in Walking Tall. I thought it was a better performance than one could expect from someone who pretends to bash people's skulls in all day. Or it could have just been the directors and the supporting cast.

As for Doom, no surprises there. The movie was decent, good enough to watch through once. Not a doom movie, but something loosely inspired by doom. The fanboys are likely pissing themselves for that alone, but I thought it was good. You didn't get the scares you get in Doom, but then again this isn't the Ring, and as soon as The Rock was cast for a role in the movie (and possibly earlier), people should have expected this.

They changed the demons-from-hell theme to mutants with an extra chromosome pair, which was bothersome, but I suppose it's something that needed to be done to give this movie a chance in Christian America. The other stuff (imps not throwing fireballs, story modification, etc.) all came out of this. They made it into a sci-fi flick vs. a futuristic fantasy movie, but that was really all that bothered me about it.

The last 20 mins sucked, because the "FPS" element of the movie was poorly implemented and placed inappropriately. Another good idea fucked up by bad planning. It would have been much more gratifying to cut as needed to "helmet cam" mode, to scare the shit out of people and keep them in the action. But this would have been too hard to implement given the already sloppy script and atroctious director, so in the end it was better left where it was.

If you haven't seen it, download it and watch it once (or rent it), If you have seen it it isn't worth watching again imo. There are better movies to occupy your time with, but then again how much could you expect from a watered-down action blockbuster.
