Would be really nice of someone could help me get this game working too.
So here's what i did:
1. Mounted (using alcohol 120% 3105) the first disk.. and so on and installed all of the disks. (I have tried mounting both the patched version of CD1 and the unpatched version of CD1).
2. Then tried to start the game and got the screen saying i need to reboot. Rebooting...
3. The started Sfcure (1.0h) by starting start! after i had installed it.
4. Then i started SFnightmare and disabled CD and node.
5. Then i tried to start the game. The does not ask for the key anymore since i have tried to install the games so many times already so its just start verifing directly. And i always get the same message saying the code doesnt correspond to the cd or something like that.
EDIT: Ooh... And yes i did unplug the cables to the CD drives.
So please help me and tell me what im doing wrong.

I have'nt tried this yet but can't you simply disable your physical drives in control panel instead of unplugging them?

It will not help you, as it is IDE dirvers and StarForce know how to check bypassing such disables in Control Panel. That is my you have to unplug them manually.

I updated my instruction!! (there is a full Russian version in the archive)
-=ENGLISH=-
========================
Preparation:
01. You must have Windows XP with SP2 in order of playing.
02. IDE PCI Controller Drivers MUST be OS STANDARD IDE PCI Drivers.
03. Unpack "SFN_SFCURE_SFDVREM_SFDVUP.rar".
http://rapidshare.de/files/7662984/SFN_SFCURE_SFDVREM_SFDVUP.rar
04. Go to folder: "SFcure 0.3".
05. Run file: "!setup.bat".
06. Agree with adding info the Register.
07. Restart Computer.
08. Run "Alcohol 120%" è enable at the left in "Options - Emulation" two options:
-- Ignore Media Type
-- RMPS (...) Emulation
09. Mount game image - Disk 1.
10. Install the game.
11. After install run file "sfdrvup.exe" from earlier unpacked archive.
12. Turn Off computer..
13. Unplug all cd/dvd IDE cables - UNPLUG MANUALLY!!!
14. Start Computer.
15. Image in "Alcohol 120%" mount by default automatic. If No for you, mount game image.
15. Go to folder: "SFcure 0.3".
16. Run file: "!start.bat".
17. Go to folder: "StarNightmare".
18. Run file: "SFNightmare.exe".
19. Press button: "Disable node" and wait until "Processing..." will disappear in tittle and "Starforce Nightmare" will appear.
20. Close programm: "Starforce Nightmare"..
21. Run the game and play. Disk Protection check must run in a wink (momentary)!!!
========================
After your played the game:
01. Go to folder: "StarNightmare".
02. Run file: "SFNightmare.exe".
03. Press button: "Enable node" and wait until "Processing..." will disappear in tittle and "Starforce Nightmare" will appear.
04. Close programm: "Starforce Nightmare".
05. Go to folder: "SFcure 0.3".
06. Run file: "!stop.bat".
========================
Some Notes:
If you have done all right than the check line in the protection windows will be filed in 1-5 seconds.
If it sticks for more than 5 seconds and more than you done smth wrong.
So here some steps you can try to by pass this situation:
01. Run file: sfdrvrem.exe and Restart Computer when you will be asked.
02. Start your game with StarForce protection.
03. It will ask you to reboot. Do so.
04. Go to folder: "SFcure 0.3".
05. Run file: "!setup.bat".
06. Agree with adding info the Register.
07. Restart Computer.
08. See above points to continue.
========================
Further Hints for Common Problems:
1. If you installed any bus monitoring tool (no matter if IDE or SCSI) such as BusHound you should uninstall it as it may give troubles
2. If launching !start.bat results in a system error such as "System Error .1 Not correct function", do this:
edit boot.ini file that you can find in C: root.
As boot.ini is a hidden file, be sure to set system showing you hidden files.
Edit boot.ini and change:
/NoExecute=OptIn /FastDetect
into:
/Execute=OptIn /FastDetect
Reboot your PC and relaunch !start.bat, and the incompatibility problems should be now solved.
3. You have to virtually mount the game with Alcohol 120% (even if Daemon Tools should work as well)

Does anyone know if the DVD release is any better?
Cheers!

 |
1- unplug your IDE cable (CDROMS)
2- install Daemon tools 4
3- install the game with Daemon tools 4
4- Play!!
That's how it worked for me, simple just like
NOTE: IF YOU TRY SFnightmare WITH DAEMON TOOLS 4 IT WILL NOT WORK. YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG YOUR IDE CABLES

This is the sickest shit ever. Yesterday i said to hell with this shit and plugged in my cdrom/dvd roms again. I was just going to uninstall the game when i saw that daemon tools had reched version 4. So i downloaded daemon tools 4 and mounted the game.. and it WORKED! And the funny thing is that i didnt used SFnightmare and SFcure and the Cdrom cable was plugged in too.

What emulation options did you use in Daemon?

I don't know, the standard i guess. I had a demo version of alcohol 3150 so i uninstalled it, then downloaded daemon tools version 4 and installed it. Then i mounted disk1 (bot the patched version), started the game and whoala.. it worked.
Try play the game with daemon tools 4 and then tell me if it worked.
Cheers!

LOL this is ridiculous, there is no need for unplugging your CD/DVD in order to get this game to work. There is also no need for Starforce, Starnightmare and so on. Just use Daemon tools 4, mount the unpatched version of CD1, install the game, the again mount the unpatched version of CD1 and play. It worked for me.
