I have no personal matter with any mod here. But it is just a fact that some mods don't do their job well and sometimes deserve a temp ban themselves to cool off. I won't give any names either, but the irc log from griffons last post revealed a lot before it was deleted. And there are also a few mods who do a really good job. No need to call names though, i think you the mods know for yourselfs who is doing the job and who isn't.

Some mods can be real jerks, y'know.
But some can be clowns that'll cheer you up durin' those long gloomy days.
But it ain't like that all the damn time. 
You can't put it to a vote. If a kid has it in for a mod that don't mean shit... they’re disappointed for personal reasons and such reasons shouldn't count.
Sometimes I get piss mad when mods just let things happen and then take the wrong course of action. But that rarely happens. 
There’s tons of people on this forum that behave..... well.... lets say... childish.
And they should be dealt with, but all they get is a lil slap and they move on actin' all cool like they own this place.

I could name lots. Sorta
 I just dunno who I can call a mod. Y'know.
Skid is a mod but he doesn't really act like one. He's like one of us and when there has to be a mod he goes into a phone booth and puts on that mod suit and boom.
ApeX is robocop.  He comes in when he's needed and when he comes he gets the job done 
toeffy & stoozie & saint are like mod pimps. They're cool until you forget to pay then they bring out their gads and start shottin the place up
maxie is like a Big Brother. Jokes lot. has fun. And doesn't let the power get to his head. Well not all the time. But mostly he's coo coo
Jenni is a strict mod. Which is cool. She doesn’t let no one talk shit. She ain’t afraid to ban Like only mod you can trust to take care of this place when others are out cold
mrt is like THE best mod! He's there when you need him. Seriously. You need somethin done you just gotta pm that kid and boom! Always friendly. Always helpful. Just all around nice.
They all got their faults. Jenni can be too strict at times. Maxie can be a real asshole and just put you down to such a level where you just feel worthless. Stoozie, saint an toffle are too nice They let things slide too often. And skidmark is like... you never know when he's wearing that super hero suit or not. D
Honestly... I only see Jenni, apex and mrt as real mods. If you put me on the spot to name the mods all around here I'd only name those three. The rest do their jobs well but they're like... all.... like one of us. You ain't afraid of talking out of line when you talk to them.
Back in the day when the mod came and interfered with a discussion it was like your mum came to the schoolyard and yelled at you. Now it’s like your buddies are tryin’ to step in to help out.

The benefits of a forum from a personal point of view, being British, being able to get the opinion of a Canadian,Eastern European, American et al, on any subject is pretty great. It breaks down doors.
But take the guy who's Grandfather fought in WW2, and stated in his thread that he felt deeply about the subject and that anyone wanting to talk shit should respect that and not post. Then some child that doesn't even deserve the respect of a mention says SS Rest in peace, and someone gets banned for taking offence.
You may have the power but certainly not any moral authority, you should realise that you have a community of people which is worth somethig and that you have more to lose than they do.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard to say whether you're joking or not.
Sometimes it's pretty obvious but other times (can't really name them or remember them) it's pretty hard and makes you feel… somewhat insecure :(

ok here's my finger pointing....
i'm disappointed at the mods who put jenni forward as a mod candidate just because she's a woman (dont say its not true when it is) when decent members aka syn who have been around more, less controversial, more helpful blah blah have been overlooked.

haha, I have no real issues with the mods, sometimes I think they make bad choices, but I wont bitch about it because I know they made that choice as a group, and more importantly, my opinion doesnt mean shit .
I would like to point out that a good lot of us (infact almost everyone in this thread, give or take a few) SHOULD be banned, I sure as hell know I can get heated when talking tech at times, and I am very sure I have said at least a few out of place things which should have seen me with a kick. We get better treatment for having care for the site and the community, not because we deserve them, they can and should be taken away at anytime a mod/admin see's fit.
Anywho, can't say I could put my hand up and say "THIS MOD SUCKS" and as much as it seems as if some mods do more I have no doubts that they all play a roll. I do miss the R man though !

As far as I'm concerned, I'm allowed to bitch all I want. I have no interest in being a moderator here, but I can tell you that I would EASILY have the patience to sift through all the posts if I wanted to make a point, which apex clearly did. Maybe thats the problem max? Maybe being lazy has caused many of the posts to be filled up with junk. Apex DID do a good job clearing them out, but a temp ban for me for just posting a continuation is ridiculous. I didn't break a rule at the time, and no, I should not have been banned. I was frustrated, and I bitched, in the correct forum.
Also, I would like to make a point that I didn't say Apex sucked, or ANY OTHER mod for that matter. If you've read my posts, I've mentionned that for the most part I've been very pleased with what they've done as a collective. They've not ruled with an iron fist and made themselves very accesible, though suggestions are ignored, which I don't really agree with, but who am I to say anything on the matter.
I'd personally like to attack max right now, for thinking I care about my 'rep'. The only 'rep' I have is to speak my mind, and be a smartass whenever possible. Me being banned pissed me off because it shouldn't have happened.

so actually we're not doing a bad job, but just make the wrong choice every now and then. That's not so bad then.
So alot of people are posting shit just to join the club with some senior members in the "we dont agree with the moderation", is that it maybe?

yeah and you cant do anything against him cause he is a cop.

actualy that isn't true, she was a member that helped lots of people. And that's why we liked/needed.

I'm failing to see where she helped out 'exceptionally'. she didnt stand out as a helpful person at all only the 'only female on the board at the time'. Syn has been around longer, helps out more, is more respected, isn't biased etc. etc.

I would really say that I agree with that.
As I don't know the entire process around her being selected as a mod, I will not point my finger on someone or say it wasn't the right decision to make her a mod.
But I do find that syn has been contributing more than Jenni.
