Any way to reduce asset pop in?

For some reason it's more noticeable now Neutral
I'm fine with grass and trees but when I'm riding into a village having the entire population and half of the assets appear out of nowhere is kinda annoying.

Aye, I noticed this yesterday.
Wondering if it was caused by the user settings being updated.

Well, popups got much better here with new GPU, especially in cutscenes where previously faces used to visibly change textures as they loaded in.

I can also play Witcher 2 at 90 fps now. xD Might be time for a replay finally. It's insane how they fucked up controls in TW3 when you compare the two side by side.

Guys at CDPR still don't know shit about designing the inventory. Why just readable objects couldn't be in a seperate page? And why bombs/oils/potions has to be at the same line? Just categroize them under the same page and voila! An orginized ui, there you go! They consolized everything, but not the inventory. The inventory in this game made my eyes hurt after the 30th hour. And good god! I have to get my mouse over to see the specs of anything, they could've added a box or something between equipped items and the inventory section.

Grats on the card, can imagine how it feels. I went from a 560ti to a 970 and that was enormous

Updated sig.... So many ti's coming out i was like seriously this thing has a decent clock speed over the default 980ti and these thigns are fucking silly powerful, am i really going to need to oc it even more. So bought one.

Not disappointed. Overkill if anything giving my current setup. But at least I dont need to worry about all these settings they stick in games for a few months now. Max. Ta.

I gotta try some titles now which really look awesome on these cards. Witcher was free (giggles) I have a code for batman but i dont know if i wanna use it because of the performance issues at present with that.

GTA runs great, bf4 awesome, battlefront all ultra and locked at 60. What else?
Feel like a little kid thats just been given a ferrari to replace his nissan micra or something. Bearing in mind the 670 served me well. Wonder how much i can flog that off now. Pennies probably.

You're forgetting pathetic 8x6 grid with arms and armours taking up 2 squares.

Yeah, I can surely find several items to complain about for sure. Inventory is a huge one. The auto-sheathing (and auto-un as well) needs to go. The loot needs more usefulness. Sorting and filtering needs to be better. The controls and responsiveness (although I've gotten used to them, I still don't like them). CDPR needs someone who knows how to create vegetation properly. And why can't I create custom map notations dammit!!

But here's the thing for me-- even with those complaints (and many more I did not list), I still can't give the game anything less than a perfect score. All those complaints being fixed might make the game better but it still wouldn't change the overall enjoyment of it. Brilliant. Just brilliant. I'm in love with the writing and the characters and the voice actors. As a writer myself, appreciating the art of gaming has been something that is hard to find. Every once in a while a Mafia comes out. Or a Last of Us. And it blows me away. Because most of the time, we're fed shit.

*edited to add about the custom map notations

i loved the game but:

interactable igni + geralt having to stop when looting things running were my biggest rage inducers. Playing on hardest difficulty didn't offer enough challenge or force the use of alchemy & stuff as well.

This game is so awesome - I couldn't stop playing yesterday, at all...

But the inventory is terrible. I'd love to read all books, notes or letters I come across, but having to constantly switch to inventory and find out which book I just picked to read it is pain in the ass to do.

Now I question whether I should endure waiting for miracle patch or Enchanted Edition or just play it in its current state.

Endure, Master Tolanri, endure. No but seriously, the UI is shit and it has too many bugs, but the game itself is well worth persevering Smile

Aren't those the illusions? You need a artifact that Keira Metz will provide, she's a "witch" you encounter fairly early on in Velen when pursuing leads on I think it was Ciri's whereabouts.
(She'll give it to you during a dungeon crawl, she'll also give another artifact shortly afterwards which has a few uses.)

Finally finished it! And God it was great game! Enjoyed every minute of it.
 Spoiler:

Took me 115 hours to do most of the quests. I actually counted the completed quests log and i have 220 completed. Still have 2 contracts to do and about 15 treasure hunts. Lots of PoI (where most probably more treasure hunt quests will show up).
So quick aprox calculation says i will "miss" about 20-30 quests at the end.

Think i'm gonna finish the active quests i have left and maybe do some PoI hunt for few hours more and return again 10-15 days before first expansion.

Had a crash problem when travelling to Skellige first time. When the dialogue finished when I arrived and gameplay loaded, game quit everytime. So no known workarounds, except looking for odd quests that could interfere. I even loaded a save from some 20 hours earlier and even that did not help.
Thing is I was going there because I NEEDED someone there to help me with a quest in Velen (Triss/Yen coming and going), not seeking them out and completing the quest really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Finishing up sidequests did not help. Tried lowering the graphics, and setting fps to unlimited, messsing with DLCs, still crash.
Then I changed the fps cap to 30 and bam, no crash.

A fucking headache, this gave me. No serious problems with the game otherwise but this seemed hopeless. Don't throw away your saves before you try everything.
