Just had a quick go of this for half an hour and the game seems really good already. I hope that patch is released soon.

They both said that Warner Bros. was aware of the many issues facing Arkham Knight on PC and that the publisher chose to ship the game regardless, not to maniacally screw over customers—but because they believed it was good enough.

So they knew about many issues which made the game virtually unplayable yet decided to ship the game anyway because they believed it was good enough. So much for their so called quality standards... Rolling Eyes

All the hoopla aside the sad reality is they really don't give a shit about PC gaming. It's simply a side project handed off to someone else to quickly piece together and flog off to gullible gamers for a tidy profit.

One would think a company like Warner had Analysts that predict such stuff happening if you do X, I wonder why people there get good salaries Laughing

"Finished" the game yesterday. Everyone caught apart from the Riddler and I'm not about to do all 246 challenges just to get to him and see the complete ending. It's a bloody ridiculous idea to only allow people who 100% the game to see the final ending to the game. Not everyone has the time/dedication/OCD for that.

That said, I enjoyed the game despite the performance issues. Best Batman game in the series. The voice acting, characters, missions, etc. I think I'll replay Arkham Asylum next for a more focused and intimate experience.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2015-what-does-it-take-to-run-arkham-knight-smoothly-on-pc

Good article on the state of the PC port and what it takes to get it running "console" smooth, starting with disabling the utterly broken in-game 30fps cap *and* vsync, and instead just using nV half-rate adaptive.

The article is very good and informative, they particularly nail the #1 problem that affects the port: Badly implemented texture streaming. They however ommit the fact that in order to get the same experience (or slightly better) as with consoles with the current state of the PC port you need to have a 3GB vram video card. 2GB simply won't do it.

Why isn't 2GB VRAM enough Rage

The game actually ran worse for me when following their suggestion of capping the fps to 120 and using adaptive-half refresh rate. Instead of a mostly stutter-free 30 fps I was getting lots of very noticeable frame skipping.

They promised to reduce the vram and ram usage with the upcoming patches, so expectations are you'll get the console experience with a gtx 770. Troll Face

Still a decent choice. Sadly it is still bugged, can't do one radio tower since I fall through the ground but that's not part of the main story. Curently stuck on a boss fight with the assassin who poisons you. Some boss fights in this game are *tough*. Wait until you get to Deathstroke.

Yeah Origins was awesome. But I replayed it recently and discovered something very annoying compared to City/Knight...lots of places don't let you grapple onto them.

If you're asking whether to go for it, I think it's a good time to buy it since the prices for keys went down but might increase once they fix the game. As for playing, you can safely wait for a few patches (or play it until the end like I did even with the performance issues Razz ). It's the best Arkham game in the trilogy for me. I do miss the boss fights from the previous Arkham games, though. There aren't any memorable ones in this game.

You're right. I haven't seen such low prices for a new game even on those grey-area cheap key sites. I also think that the prices might shoot up once the PC version is fixed.
