No X/X-2 "HD" on X360 and no X/X-2 Remaster on XBONE either. It would be extremely strange for Sony/SE to release them on PC.. but hey... strange yet not unappreciated Very Happy

FF12 HD PC (proper HD) would be INSTABUY. Regardless of price.

Sadly, as much as I want X/X-2 HD... I doubt it'll come. Those are Sony games through and through it seems, they don't even have XBONE versions.

Why does the belief that Sony somehow owns some part of the FFX IP still persist nearly 15 years later?

Nobody said anything about this being Sony IP.
But they were published on PS2 first and Sony might and very probably will have first distribution rights or something comparable.

Nice! Though it's strange there's still been no word about XIII-3/LR. Ah well... maybe, just maybe, they're actually WORKING on it this time? Maybe, just maybe, we can get a decent port? Laughing

not predurrhurring any more FF games on PC, got burned with technical issues on FF13 and especially FF13-2, most of which were never fixed.

#2 on steam seller list, i wonder if it has anything to do with that bonus Dota2 item thingy Laughing

XIII is mostly okay now, I get locked 60 almost 100% of the time and the new shadow/res/aa options (mostly lifted wholesale from Durante's tool Laughing) really help too. XIII-PC is by far the definitive copy now. XIII-2? Yeah.. that's fucking broken to hell and back. Terrible performance and broken visual effects with no patch/fix in sight and with XIII-3/LR still to come? Sad They've already confirmed T0-HD is going to be framerate locked and Eurogamer claimed SE told them it was due to the framerate being tied to game logic, which is horsecrap since the PSP version has a cheat/patch for 60fps and it runs flawlessly without a single downside.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow Very Happy Not super keen on the 30fps cap, but since it's effortlessly patched out on the PSP version then I'm hoping Durante can work his magic on the PC one, as the game itself is a hell of a lot of fun.

How is the story in this game or does it focus more on combat?

I had a look at some Amazon reviews. The story seems to be pretty dark and not bad, compared to other FF games.

I don't know much about the Final Fantasy games having good or bad stories but I thought most of them contained darker elements too although perhaps only in smaller amounts and in a less serious tone? (Such as the prostitution ring in Final Fantasy VII, I mean that fat guy by the way where Cloud dresses up in a "disguise", not a item. Razz )

EDIT:

Ah so it's less whimsical or how to say.

From what I've played of the PSP version the story is actually kind of terrible, you could even say that it's worse than FF XIII. Laughing
I wouldn't get your hopes up if you're looking for a decent story.

Edit: I guess I should elaborate a bit on why I found the story to be lacking. First of all, I have to mention that FF Type-0 does NOT have a character-driven story, meaning that there are many characters introduced that are quickly relegated to the background and never get a follow-up on their plights/dilemmas. As for lore, you pretty have to read the Crimson Codex to fully understand everything that is going on, which there is quite a lot of. I didn't like the way the story was presented, it lacks a bit of cohesiveness in that regard.
Anyway as long as you play the game with low expectations you may enjoy it, just don't expect it to be on the same level as a mainline FF game. I know opinions on this game are mixed so I encourage everyone to try the game for themselves.

thats not true, the story is far better than any of the retarded xiii crap.
you uncover more of the story with a subsequent playthrough but overall its way better and gets quite rough later on.
it has the best ff story and ending in over a decade.
