yeah that's what triple buffering is for, reducing input lag.
Er... yeah, I was aware of that...?
My point was that it seems (to me) that the game doesn't default to triple buffering, since without having D3d overrider up and running I seemed to notice some mouse lag with v-sync on.
Argh, too tired.
Good night guys.

Can anyone assist me. I even updated to the new DOX FIX.
The game would crash upon Intro Screen, I fixed that with audio fix.
Now the game loads to the intro screen and the dragon is purple, then the hole screen goes purple and every few seconds I can see an artifact at the top of the screen that is jagged and white.
I can press Start new game and press Okay but I see nothing after and I can still hear the music playing.
I have updated my Nvidia drivers, installed dx on redistrubitable ect ect...
No, no, no. Discard anything you learned about triple buffering from Anandtech, that sort of flip queue manipulation is not what happens with Direct3D triple buffering. It simply adds one more buffer to eliminate v-sync related framerate halving. It actually increases input lag by exactly one frame. That's ~16ms at 60fps or ~32ms at 30fps. Unwinder, the developer of D3DOverrider himself, stated that this is exactly what his triple buffering implementation does.
The game doesn't halve framerates without forcing triple buffering, so the game has triple buffering enabled by default. Most games do these days, very few let you disable it. Why you would perceive less input lag by forcing triple buffering I do not know, but I'd wager it's placebo at work. The input lag should remain the same, or in the case of double-buffered games, increase it.
Skyrim, just like Oblivion and Fallout3/NV, uses an excessively high pre-rendered frames limit. Changing this limit from your graphic card's control panel gets overridden by most games and doesn't have any effect, but you can use a DLL injection called D3D9 Antilag to override the pre-render limit of any DX9 game. Setting it to 1 in Skyrim reduces lag considerably, but reduces the framerate as well. Setting 2 still reduces lag noticeably, but no longer seems to affect the framerate.
I've got the bug where vilkas is following me around everywhere.
I need to pay off fines to stop him apparently.
Though looking at general stats and crime i have bountys in both "The reach" and "east march"
I can't see either of those places on the map. where are they?
EDIT: never mind they are regions lol.

UN-FUCKING-ACCEPTABLE. First bug or crash I've had with skyrim. I estimate after about 20 hours of just having fun. Almost level 15. Was in the town that you wake up in after the drinking contest. Going through the abandoned house with some guy and I hit quick save. And everything froze.
Now EVERY SINGLE fucking save game is corrupt. Fuck that. I love the game but that kind of shit pisses me off. All that time is now 100% wasted. fuck.

wow.... the whole comp froze? actually makes sense if that's it, especially if it was writing to the disk and had to be hard reset, probably should do a chkdsk too
dodger have you tried copying the saves out starting a new game saving that then exiting and pasting the saves back? it once fixed the same issue for me in morrowind (granted that i was 200h in edit : in morrowind that is)
Ps have you used any heavy cheats or mods? sometimes the effects of those can take ages to go in (ie wrecking your game)

No, no cheats, mods, or console commands. I play them these games vanilla It froze in the middle of quicksaving. Tried to load any save and it gave a corrupt error. On a whim I deleted the quicksave file and, magically, now the other saves work again so I didn't lose too much. What kind of shit programming is that?
So if anyone else gets a corrupt save problem, you likely just need to delete the corrupt one and hopefully the rest start working again.
eh dodger that happens more than once tho a corrupted save can block access of other saves i had that happen in the mod i wrote for freelancer and once in vanilla freelancer and there's other games filecorruption can be a bitch but glad i was of some help ^^
Oh and no console commands in a beth game that is off elder scrolls make is really hard to do hello bugs stopping you from advancing quests or companions getting stuck in the wall are just a small selection atleast it isn't as bad as Oblivion was bugwise at the start
So far the only issues i had where random ctd's to desktop when alt tabbing which was strangely fixed by lowering the shadows from ultra to high (and i'm running the fxaa mod oh well )
Btw does anyone have a fix to the launcher that keeps "Data files" displaying it grayed out? any fix i tried so far produces the same aka nada
Something is odd about that house. Not any one specific spot in it but inside there it's actually caused a hard freeze on my computer twice now. Hopefully it'll be fixed with the patch they're working on. Only place in the game I've had any problems. Damn sure keeping my saves backed up periodically now though
Use the backup, same as in Oblivion to Fallout 3, each save creates a backup first so you should be able to use that one.
C:\Users\JonasB\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves
(Where my user-name is what you use for your account of course.)
.ess.bak renamed (delete the other .ess file.) to .ess and then load that file.
(I keep three saves just as a precaution but the backup mechanics is pretty solid.)
EDIT: Seems you got it to work.
(Also as in Oblivion don't rely on quick or auto saving, it will get damaged and corrupted easily as you noticed, you can use them but don't over rely on them.)

Tried that. The quicksave backup was corrupted too. It would at least *try* to load with it but just stick on the loading screen. Had to completely delete the quicksave (and the backup) for any of the other saves to work.
@Sabin On the 7000 steps and Just encountered my first frost troll. Killed me in two swipes. It's late I have a meeting in the morning so I am going to bed. Saved at the bottom of the stairs but you have me fearing for my life and I don't think I am properly prepared for this at level 6 (been real busy so haven't been able to play this week). Will find out tomorrow if I am going to get totally frustrated or not. At least you warned everyone that it may suck at this point.

A little test I did, comparison is between 5 and 10 here. (not 7 which is used in the above url.)
VSync (presentinterval) also has to be set in Skyrim.ini, not skyrimprefs.ini which was why I could not get these two to work properly.
EDIT: As usual that didn't work.
EDIT: Of course the same limitations from Fallout 3 or Oblivion still exist here, you set this and then save you can't lower it without it crashing the save game.

Very nice. I like the higher quality (10?) setting. Did you get a performance hit? You changed uGridsToLoad right?
