Proof again that 90% of these post 2005 modders are absolute shitlords. The reasons for modding really seem to have shifted greatly from coming out of passion for a title towards "getting compensation"...

I try one more time to prove my points with simple example. Then I leave you alone.

1. BIS hold competition where all entries 100% volunteerly take part (no legal rights to anything)
2. Its announced that any kind of gamemode can compete and "think outside the box" is mentioned.
3. If thinking gamemodes as colors the whole pallet is allowed
4. Deadline is passed year later (after over 1000hours of work)
5. Jury is announced
6. Finalists are picked for MP that are very low colorfull when compared to how people supported entries where the selection on top was way more colored (you can compare in manw page)
7. The picked colors happen to be what you can take a look easily
8. In SP side similar color entry what the dropped outside MP finalists, also drops out of TOP3
9. Jury put 3 SP entries ahead the dropped one even those had 1.5-2.6 times less votes by community
10. Community votes didnt meant to have effect. I think it showed still excatly the target for who the entries were made
11. I get angry of that and try to contact BIS
12. No replies and in forum BIS say they will not publish scores or comment anyway
13. There is few small one reply messages going between me and few workers. No any swearing e.g. included.
14. No way to contact Marek Spanel himself that have the only posssible effect
15. I send few twitter messages showing latest mission status, no reply
15. Time passes until t-shirts are offered for finalists
16. I decide to change the hobby target elsewhere

Summary
1. BIS legally dont need to do anything for dropped entries
2. Was it still morally right to focus on certain type entries? That I dissagree
3. Was it okay to pick many low supported entries to finals? I dissagree
3. Is it okay for me to react to that by demanding compensation for lost time. I think yes.
4. Do BIS need to do anything. No
5. Is this the right way BIS to deal this. I disagree.
6. Is it okay to speak in BI forum of this since there is still many waiting WLA updates and no more coming. I think yes.
7. I ended here figthing with you

My background in Arma games. Mission editing daily from 2007, staff member in ofpec, much published missions, converted OFP resistance campaign for arma2 when requested, near daily I help people with their scripting, also been in BIS Skype group (invited) to make community mission pack for ArmA2 (wasnt published at the end), also in BIS Skype group (invited) to think improvements for game, around 40 posts made also in feedback center to help BIS fixing bugs. No donations have been gathered.

Does the background make me automatically win. No
Could I still expect them taking a proper look of my entries in the competition? Yes
Was the entries looked anywhere fairly. I think not
Why? Compare the support/vote done by players and the results.
Anything else wishy happened? Check my 3. post in page 2
Do I have any actual proof? No, just combined pieces that I think show the true.
Does lack of proof make something bad right. No

I am only that is thinking this way? No
Many modders supported me? Yes
Any BIS members that also saw faults with how things went? Yes
Do I share the confidental names here? No
Is this competition only thing I think? No
When you are not over it? Only when editing arma, especially MP variant of the WLA.

Good summer everyone

making your passion project dependant on other people's approval is a colossal failure of life goals
you make it for yourself
if other people like it, great!
if other people hate it, who cares, you did it for yourself!
involving money or official acknowledgement of it is the ultimate betrayal of the premise
also why paid steam mods were dead on arrival

Definitely, just that they didnt even look at it in my opinion. Would continue doing arma for fun but just dont want to support the BIS anymore, so no more arma at all.

Yup the level of the typical redditers and arma'nians is just too high for us.
It takes a while before we can understand their twisted way of thinking. Poker Face

Which year was it when you decided to sell out?

Havent sell out yet. Its not selling out to take part in competition. My all mods are all there still for free, even open for own customization. Unless its selling out to stop expanding them (WLA after 2 years and over 500 updates combined. Basically started creating the consept early 2012 for arma2 first).

Competition and hobby are separate things. Not stopping arma because not getting money, stopping because the competition was insulting badly made and dont want to support that (only way to do that is stop modding). If would have lost for entires with more or similar community votes/support, would have needed to see my entry wasnt good enough. Now it was bingo at best or entry ignoring at worst (or so I see it). Dropping 3 places down was too much to handle.

No it didnt. Okay asking compesation sounds bad, but I havent sent that demand to BIS workers. Just said it in mission thread as only way to keep me in the community since sorry isnt enought for that long waste of time. I just think they did very wrong. But you can see it how you like. I cant affect that.

Wouldnt you expect fairness? What would you do if taking part in something and then your work wouldnt be even look at? And you wouldnt get any comments of it. Jury would just dissapear. There would be jury with big names, but they dont say one word of the competition. There isnt even any sign if they played anything. Just partners. Only entries that are fit for the jury level is taken to finals. Anything complex dropped without giving any warning in advance. Just look at the MP finalists, come on.

I have (been working on unreal engine 4 already for 1 month) and there was no problem. But wanted to reply here since the thread creator continued writing dirt here and you guys just agree everything he says. I need to have proofs, but everyone else can just throw anything and you knob to that together.

Gotta cut the OP some slack though because you managed to shovel most of the dirt all by yourself. Infact, you're still digging.

lol I expected he wouldn't get us making fun of him. Come on buddy, cut the crap and just leave like you intended. You're still trying to win this argument really hard, huh?

For future reference when posting in this thread:

On a serious note, you come here, say we're not able to think of our own reasons to dislike you (which we obviously have since nobody here (well except some others) is gullible and can't read), insult us and then expect us to agree with you? Are you a crackhead?

Inflated ego would be a huge fking understatement. Well, what would you expect from someone that thinks a competition is obligated to vote according to his own methodology (in which case, to everyone's surprise, he'd win).
That's what happens when you close yourself in a bubble of praises. When the criticism comes, it overwhelms you.

I do understand where he is coming from tho,the "competition" looked awfuly biased/rigged (even more from someones point of view that spend time to be part of that competition)

That's why most of the more well known ArmA/OFP modders openly stated, when it was announced, that they won't attend it. They got the message. Not so sure about him though.

Yeah. Like an Unity game set in an apocalyptic world where you have to survive. Selling it on Steam. He could even feel entitled to compensation for it.

Oh wait... stupid refund system!
