Damien Monnier: It’s very difficult! We didn’t want Geralt to be this multimillionaire that just goes around killing monsters. Ultimately, he does it for money; we really wanted you to try to haggle over prices and get more, because you really need the money. |
'Really need it' for what!?!?
Last I checked there was $40k in coin in my inventory, and I've nothing to spend it on. There's probably 3 times the equivalent of that in monster parts + rare crafting ingredients by now.
What on earth do you really need money for? Once I reached Skellige, all doubts to its usefulness were confirmed. Most RPGs have this issue. Gothic 2, Baldur's Gate, all TES - you can always amass way more than you need, and there's nothing worthwhile to spend it on. Especially if you take advantage of the world on offer, be it finding things via exploration or crafting stuff.
Money only really hinders you in the first couple of hours, but even then you can get by without it.
Letting us buy a boat, storage house (to keep sword sets, armour), a horse etc would have made the time finding & earning money much more worthwhile. |
It's even worse once you realize all you need in the game is the witcher sets. On my second playthrough every armor after lvl 14 is vendor food, i don't even try them. |
It all boils down to the game being too easy. I played the hardest difficulty, and sure the first 10 levels were annoying hard at times, but after that it was a piece of fucking cake.
All I used was light attack, sometimes hard attack and Quen rarely + some potions.
But it was still entertaining enough to not get me bored till the end of the game.

Was just poking a bit of fun, people will play however and using whatever they want, that's what's so good about
When the developers remember to make the game open to easy modding that is, unlike some other cunt devEAlopers out there...

You need to play the gwent tournament at Novigrad, and win it.

I believe some leader cards were also available @ vendors - White Orchard or perhaps some inn you get to visit soon after, following main quest.
Novigrad tournament took care of the rest though.
Spoiler: | I am still trying to remember whether I bought everything from that inn lady who freaks out on us after we slaughter those "Temerian patriots". Can't find her after that. And I am still missing some cards, according to Galaxy achievement list |

I think they fucked up the Geralt/Yennefer thing completely. I feel no connection to her, she seems like a bitch really. The interaction between the two is nowhere near the quality of Geralt/Triss. Everything with Yennefer feels rushed, there's absolutely no subtlety, unlike the majority of the game. The whole time I've been with Yennefer in Skellige, Geralt has been acting like a complete doofus :/
The relationship might make sense to someone who read the books, to me it makes no sense whatsoever. Yennefer seems to be in just to be in. Makes me wish the character wasn't in the game. The least they could do was show some more flashbacks fleshing out the relationship.

Isn't that sort of the point though because of Geralt's djinn wish? I mean they are magically attracted to each other and so it sort of makes sense that they want to jump on each other constantly. Also, I went with Triss but even so I think the relationship between Yen and Geralt got better as the game progressed.

Just finally ignore him Bob, he's a crackhead. Mods are great and if he misses out on them, even better.

My problem is that they're supposed to have a relationship with a long history, but I as a gamer didn't see any of it. They could've fleshed it out with some flashbacks, to give the gamer some kind of connection to her. I didn't have much interaction with her yet, so I hope it all improves as you state.
I just think it's a missed chance not showing us young Ciri and Yennefer/Geralt more with flashbacks.
Is glyph crafting bugged? The game doesn't accept any of my lesser glyphs for crafting.

It is. The glyphs that you found before 1.05 can't be used for crafting because they now have a separate item ID for some reason, and the crafting recipes use the glyphs with the new IDs. You'll have to drop the old ones and add the new ones via console.
