No XP for "Eye for an Eye" either.

~edit~

That is a seriously fucked up bug if it's true. I guess it's good for Steam having cloud saves as backup, eh?

I doubt it's true though since GOG games have their standard installer which works fine. Unless of course it's a Galaxy specific bug. Backing up my saves though just in case. I'm on Galaxy so I wonder if they also have cloud backup?

Wait, were you actually thinking that dude might have been correct? He was after all in full blown denial and delusion land. Laughing

Oh no, I absolutely didn't think he was correct. He's a douchenozzle. It's just now the bug has affected me personally so I can confirm it personally, just like others have grinhurt

Haha, made you play the game, be happy .You will still end up being 5 levels above main quest for majority of the game and will finish at level 35, bug or no bug

I've uninstalled the game so I could do a clean reinstall and it asked me if I wanted to keep my saves. I bet that guy accidentally pressed "no" without reading the popup.

For me most if not all of the MQin Novigrad did not give me any XP, also majority of the secopndary, maybe my lvl was to high as the MQ were around 12 and I was 17, maybe it's the bug. I'm on Skelige now and everything seems to work.

In White Orchard I thought that this game is quite small. After arriving in Velen I thought that this game can be quite big. Following the main quest I saw some fucked up shit and saw the depth of characters. Following some side quests I saw the immense depth of choices and their consequences.

This game is fucking HUGE and there are so many cutscenes and dialogues! I'm a lowly level 10 char and in any other game I'd expect to be halfway through but I have the feeling that with witcher 3 I'm below 20% Surprised

I'm coming up on Novigrad now. Level 12 or 13 I think. Still getting exp for nearly everything. Using what is effectively now the GOG version with with Galaxy/steam stuff deleted. Same exe for either version. Maybe I'll get lucky and the patch will come out before it hits me.

Ya I've had no issues with xp, guessing I'm about halfway through doing novigrad now. Playing on battle march, I'm generally always 1-2 levels give or take on quests. I don't see a prob in Grey low level not giving xp.

Where do you get the quest from the trailer where they wake up a vampire and he tells them to fuck off?

I suddenly got the achievement for completing all witcher contracts even thought I just went to Kaer Morhen - and the vampires in general were a disappointment. Even the dude that claimed he was a higher vampire turned into the usual ugly Katakan. I thought he'd be like Regis Sad

Already commented it to someone yesterday, this game is already in my top 5 ever.

I don't think I got that. Maybe it's because I've shaken Yen's whip off me for nearly the whole game? Razz

In case anyone is wondering what was wrong, it's quite simple: Pyres of Novigrad and the following quests were all marked as level 7~9, instead of 10~12. That means anyone above level 13 would not get any XP from completing those Quests. Same happened with a few Skellige quests

And CDPR couldn't release a hotfix for this? Really?

So it really was that simple? Shiiiiiit. Laughing

EDIT:
Ok, just had a thought. Hate to be the devils advocate here but is it possible that the bug was somehow with the UI and not actually with the XP you get. I'm wondering because I did notice that the level requirements for main quests were a bit erratic. Like you'd finish a level 12 main quest and the next one that becomes available would be like level 8.

Don't shoot me, just a thought.

Further proof of the XP bug fuckup:

Quote:
The XP 'bug' is very simple: the suggested level for a quest is not actually the level of the quest itself.

Family Matters and Ladies of the Swamp are suggested level 6 in the quest journal. However, in the quest rewards table that is used to determine what you get for completing each step, they are both marked as level 5 quests. Playing through the game just now on my PS4, I completed the swamp stuff just moments after hitting level 11. The quest was still green in my log because of the suggested level being only -5, but because the true level of the quest is -6 I got zero xp for completing it.

Similarly, in my PC playthrough I was level 13 when I completed Pyres of Novigrad. It's a suggested level 10 quest, so it's still green in my log. Again though, I got zero xp because in the rewards table it's actually a level 7 quest. Strangely, the follow up quest (Dreamer) is level 7 for both the suggested level and the actual level.

So this is why different people see their xp drop to 0 at different stages of the main quest, why some people get no xp from side quests as well, and why the xp starts working again eventually.

Unfortunately, knowing what causes it doesn't really help to solve it while we wait for the patch, because there's no easy list of quests and their suggested levels that I am aware of. Even the Prima guide doesn't have one. So all you can really do is use the Fix Exp mod over at Witcher 3 Nexus in the meantime.
