Thought you meant with it the same as it did with DX10 or 11 taking time.

Not really, quite some games already announce to support it with patch and some already announced to be fully using it.
Doubt it will take more than a year from now before most new releases are DX12 |
what games are those.. |
ATM 3 confirmed for PC: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Ashes of the Singularity and some unknown StarDock game ( http://gamingbolt.com/stardocks-dx12-game-looked-so-real-that-their-partners-doubted-its-legitimacy-may-come-to-xbox-one )
The ones i know of so far.

don't forget you all! only create a local microsoft account after installing windows 10. otherwise you have to use the store and get some nice other skydrive shit and always sync in the background.
only thing that i hate about windows 8. that i was stupid enough to get a online microsoft account and all those nice features that nobody wants.

I actually liked this online account. Allowed me to install 2 family pcs quicker, because I could just login with that.
And how do you have to use the store and skydrive when you use an online account?

im fine with using online account, have to use it on my phone as well and synchs calender and stuff nice. but i always create a local offline account after installing changing that afterwards into online account cause i hate how ms names the C:\Users\%USERNAME% folder when just logging in with your online account at first start

you don't have to use it but it is running in the background.
if all this shit is disabled you got the same thing like with windows 7. no more synchost.exes or store services running in the background/taskmanager.
of course if you always set up pc's this sync thing could come handy but if you just reinstall your pc every few years you don't need a synchost.exe all the time syncing your stuff to your skydrive account.
i know you can turn it off in the "new" system panel but it's still running in the background.

i think after windows update checked your system and u upgraded and system check is still valid they will provide you a key locked to your hardware. they cant convert your old key into a hardwarebound 10 key, thats illegal (atleast in the eu)

would end up with fines + a new version for the european market which applies the rules (see windows n). sure they have the possibility to delay any final judgement for more than a year --> no free versions after one year. but that would be the worst pr they could get, and they cant afford that

So my kms windows version is currently giving the windows 10 reservation option and stuff like that. So following your logic from above this would mean i get a free legit key?

i dont think so, ms will block the old kms stuff with w10. its more like after you upgraded you get instant watermarked. thats why is said if system status is still valid after the upgrade

I guess we'll only find out once it's out, but IMO it seems that such logic (free legit key even for pirates) is accurate, although I'm very suspicious as to why would microsoft do such thing...
(making it slightly more clear, could they be giving win10 for free because someone --a certain government maybe?-- wants everyone to use it?)

ms already said they will offer w10 upgrade for pirates too, but after that update every non legit version gets watermarked and bugs you every few min to buy it
edit: a well informed guy just posted some infos how this works: the activation information are stored in with the ms store stuff, so online account is required. you just install it clean and log in with your ms account -> bam activated. he also said the hardwarebounding stuff is coupled with the mainboard. so new mainboard -> ugprade license invalid

surely pirates have no right to complain, but that seems like an asshole move, the offer for upgrade clearly states that it is a full, free version, not demo.

its not a full version its an free update for win 7 / 8.1 which can be claimed one year. that upgrade is free for lifetime on that specific device
the hardwarebound stuff ofc does not apply to retail versions

Demo should specify that you can only use certain parts or time limited.
You still get the full version, you can do whatever the fuck anyone else can do, just get a watermark and popup.

Wouldn't that be a "full demo"?

Not really, because like i said, demo implies some sort of restriction that prevents it from being as functional as the full product. Here it's just a watermark and popup and that's it, you can use every functionality that a legit user can use too, so could say more or less a "free2play" version of windows that instead of using an itemshop has advertisement of their own product reminding you.

Not even close, no. I'm on 8.1 now and I love how fast it is, but the UI is a clusterfuck of derpitude, fit only for morons who cannot into PeeCeez. I hate how I have to keep editing the registry to remove those fucking shortcut "Folders" from My Comp and in any explorer window, which keep coming back after every Windows update.
Windows 8/8.1 "Metro" UI = awful.
Windows 8.1 + Classic Shell + a lot of friggin' tinkering to get it back to LOOKING and FEELING like Windows 7 = awesome.
