heck, I have the information advantage and I'm not going to share it with you unless you become more sympathetic. Smile

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Smikis, try not to insult our intelligence. For me, no quest in Novigrad gave XP. Want to know, how I know? I finished many hours of qusting, checked my XP log, and was sitting right where I left it.

Also, there's a distinct sound, when you get XP, and a message.

So yes, it's a serious bug.

And by proving that you are wrong and as result allowing you to play the game isn't sympathetic?

You are taking random information and taking it as a fact, like those 3 quests you gave as an example yesterday when in fact they are not supposed to grant exp, I cant even say which quests doesn't grant exp, because I would end up spoiling the game for you if you haven't progressed as far, but if you want to believe there is a bug instead of just you know thinking logically or playing the game, its a witcher not an diablo where exp matters.

Ill say it once again some story quests grant no exp, there is one major and very long story quests that grants no exp, which is obvious design choice and not a bug ( you will see once you finish the game )

AMD Performance DLL

Works best with GCN AMD cards, but even my 6850 got a stable 3 fps boost (same settings, same place). Might be minor, but finally pushed me over 30fps in certain places Very Happy Doesn't work for some people though.

many quests in novigrad grants no exp, though ill give you that some should have, ( weaponsmith grants no exp, seems common example of no exp bug, when in fact it is by design ), but feel free to share you save file, either of you.

Tested on my 7950, no changes in FPS. Sad

Maybe its due to my 3570K running at 4.5Ghz.

Something I've been finding a little strange is almost nobody backs off when you threaten them during conversations. You'd think random low ranking thugs wouldn't want to mess with Geralt, but it's always "we're gonna kick your ass!" I can only remember one instance of someone deciding against starting a fight.

Most of those people are low life idiots, usually with buddies. Witchers also aren't considered very badass in this world. Why else would random people say things like "mutant" and "fuck off" when you walk by?

It's also brought up a few times in the game that apparently it's a common misconception that Witchers aren't that strong against groups and that they don't harm humans.
(There's quite a bit about superstition and ignorance in this game, both from peasants and nobles and then there's all sorts of other stuff too and general idiocy, actually makes the world feel more believable or how to say with it's medieval low-fantasy setting. Razz )

I didn't get a single XP for any quests in Novigrad. Just from the Main Quests, that is exactly 5149 XP, which I have done. Didn't even count the side quests here.

So that's 3.5 level's worth of XP at the very least. And I had it bug other sidequests as well. I checked with detailed guide. With side quests, I'm calculating around 5 levels lost.

I'm level 20 soon now, so taking in to account XP gain above level 20, I'd have to be level 23/24 at the very least. That is 20-25% of my power gone.

Sure, I'm in the level range, but I have done absolutely everything in Velen and Novigrad, didn't leave a leaf unturned.

So I think I know, what I'm talking about, thank you very much.

No quest at all, or just story quests? I seem to get XP for side quests and Witcher tasks just not the main quest (for which I am 2 lvls overlvld, so still green).

Anyone encounter a bug where for some reason you're unable to sprint? And stamina gets 'permanently' depleted? It fixes itself after some time but I have no idea what triggers it, both the bug and the 'fix'. o.O Scratch Head

What guide did you check, is there even a guide with supposed exp for a quest? By the time you are 24 level you would be finishing the game, literally starting last stretch of the game main quests, most of quests in novigrad are level 11-16, most of quests in skellige are between 13-20, but you somehow imagining you would still earn full exp?

Pretty sure I've done pretty much everything in Velen and novigrad apart few 23+level contracts and I was level 19 or 20 when I left for skellige, and first quests you get there are literally level 13, but hey you got by a god damn exp bug and not by actual design, which part of " NOT ALL QUESTS GRANT EXP BY DESIGN " is so unclear to you

But hey, lets say there is exp bug, lets say you got hit by it, lets say you lost 2-4 levels, with some imaginary exp values, you would gain no exp for doing grey quests in any case, you can't magically make up numbers you want to gain then add them, and completely ignore the fact that you are almost 10 levels above average quest level in novigrad which is probably around 14-15, as it ranges from 11-17, but you expect to end up at level 24, I rest my case.

Fuck it, I calculated sidequest XP in it as well: I'm missing 7219 XP.

Note, I got up to level almost 20 by doing 24/25+ quests, so no, if I had done it in order (which was my intent), then yes, I would have gotten 7219 XP on top of my level almost 20.

@Smikis.

I was level 34 when I finished the game (was playing it mostly on broken bones but around skellige I switched down a notch). And I still have stuff to do and also I missed out on a bunch of quests (such as the gwent games, racing and brawling).

Also, reason for doing the side-quests (even the gray/green ones) is so that nothing is missed and they're not closed off due to following the main quest line. If I were to just do the main-quests then it would feel like rushing the game and then in fact yes, the game might have ended at level 24.

Please, Smikis, don't insult my intelligence. I calculated when and in what order I did quests, and how much XP and when I should have got for them. I'm not a fucking child.

I also did quite a few contracts from Skellige already, since I had nothing better to do. Have around 30% explored. Also playing on Death March.

Just get the console dll and add the experience manually, I know I would have done it if it bothered me that much and I would still proceed.

I finished at level 35 , was 34 after doing main quest line, last level from few 30+ contracts, I have earned 10 levels doing last stretch of main quests, from 24 to 34 and at one point I was 5 levels above main quest

No, not the walk/run key. Stamina as I said is 'depleted' which means it's always empty and doesn't refill. Actually using the walk/run key makes Geralt run but he's unable to sprint as he doesn't have any stamina.

This game managed to have interesting protagonists, interesting supporting characters, interesting antagonists, AND what i thought it was most impressive: The antagonists don't feel like "an obligatory boss battle so i could finish the game". When it was time to face those guys i was like "daaaaamn this is gonna be guuud!" Razz
Comparing this to DA:I Main Villain, on DA i was like "ok, lemme kill this *insert generic villain here* to save the world". Could be Corypheus, a Dragon, an Alien, any generic enemy could fit the task there.
On The Witcher 3 the game really did a nice job building up to those fights. I was like "fuck yeah, about time to kill those bitches!" Laughing
