Is there any sort of tycoon game that has multiplayer so you can actually play eachother?

Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe.
Last time I checked, there was 50+ servers online..
If you don't know what it is, then it's a free, better version of the best game ever, Transport Tycoon Deluxe..

As Stealth88 said go for TTD. It's still the best tycoon-game you can find.
