How is the game? I used to be pretty addicted to the original mod.
Is it worth getting back into it?

Other than that? Still pretty standard.
Let me try and paint that picture from a "veteran" point of view.
Let's jump back to 1.3 first; 1.4 came out (and 1.5 soon thereafter), changed a lot of weapons and the movement. Many people hated 1.4/1.5 because a lot of weapons were harder to use (notably the deagle you could no longer fire while moving without penalty ). I personally liked that, to me 1.5 brought the balance that really made the game the cash-machine it was.
Enter 1.6; some minor changes in the movement and weapon handling, but aside from the epic Steam failures early on, it was very much like 1.5.
And then they fucked it up. CS Source is the game that broke the CS community. The movement felt incredibly weird, the weapons handled like crap and everything about it felt a lot more random. As a result, it attracted a lot of new and terrible players, and at the same time it attracted some people who thought they were better than they were. And certain cheaters
As a game, I thought it was shit. And so did most of the CS community, because 1.6 remained the dominant game by far; Source never got to the level 1.6 had.
This one sits somewhere in the middle. The movement is closer to 1.6 than it is to Source; throwing grenades on the other hand is very much Source, still that weird arc. As for the weapons, not one of them feels like its 1.6 counterpart (if it exists). The AK gets closest. When doing short bursts or tapping, a lot of them feel great. The part that still throws me off is the visual feedback. There's something in there that prevents me from spraying anywhere near as accurately as I could in 1.6.
Maps have received changes as well obviously, many simply coming from Source. Inferno's a bit better than the 1.6 version, but Dust 2 is definitely worse. It was played to death in 1.6 and all they've done is open it up even more, so it's still the map everyone seems to go for because it's so extremely simplistic
Is it worth getting into? For me, yes. It just feels a lot better than Source did. Still not as good as 1.6 though
Hmmm. Sounds like it's not that bad then. I was pretty competitive with 1.6 and that's the one I played the longest (started with 1.4) but I gave up around the time source came out (mostly because I hated source).
Maybe... maybe I might give it a try.
Note: As a side note. I tried playing 1.6 again a few months back. Time has not been kind. I couldn't move more than 5 steps without getting killed
"You have to wait before you can play additional competitive matches"
What the fuck is this nonsense
I told you yesterday, it'll take at least 4 days for you to get a rank, because there is a limit of games you can win per day. After you get your rank you can play all day long.
I played solo queue few minutes ago.
I was without skill group because of inactivity but I remember that I had Gold Nova Master rank then Gold Nova III after 19 matches won.
Now after my last game I am Master Guardian Elite (lol). We won match (me without microphone and on 2 speakers and 70-80 ping) and some 4 Russian stack with over 120 ping. Enemy team (some Russians too), after heavy losing in early game, lost one of his teammate because of abandoning. So I ended with 14-1-7 stats on last place in scoreboard.
Tickrate was 64 (it sucks) but game was fun and dropped for me Operation Breakout Weapon Case (why not Falchion Case? ).
Probably I will be deranked in next few matches
