does the main story quests take you back to previous "zones" or is it always moving forward?

^ Probably, given that the level requirement for that quest is so high.

Well, this is one of the best game ever made, no doubt there, but can someone tell me if something can be done to mod this stupid fucking horse? It's such a drag travel with it. It gets stuck everywhere (even a 20 cm ledge is too much for it), and also fix the amount of damage Geralt takes from falls, because it seems ridiculous that he would lose half his HP jumping down a flight of stairs.
But except for the usual bitching, this is AMAZING! Didn't follow this game in any way, and I'm just blown away by it's content, it's atmosphere, it's depth, everything

Da fuck!
I may have come across a gamebreaker, bout 60 hours in, level 20.
I cant go back to velen. If I try and select it from the worldmap it loads up novigrad. Tried reloading, restarting etc. I can see it load the map for a split second then it loads novigrad.
Anyone else getting this?

Que?
Novigrad and Velen are the same map, Novigrad is the top part, Velen is the lower part.

yeah im retarded apparently, 14 hour session with no sleep.
edit: The quest icon is on a fast travel signpost, i'm supposed to get tools from undvik.
I think this is what confused me, ie: its usually on a fast travel if your moving to a different area.
no marker for undvik.

movement for both horse and Geralt could be improved, I been stuck multiple times on the bridges, unable to enter them on a horse ( and ones that I travelled through on the horseback before ) just like hitting invisible wall
as for fall damage, there is actually roll mechanic, which was pointed out couple pages back, jump second time ( while in air ) before landing to roll

Is there some particular vendor you can dump all your excess mutagens on? One that pays better than the rest, I mean.

Alchemists probably, not as common as herbalists I believe though common traders might offer a OK price as well.
(Apparently prices do differ for various goods depending on the type of trader but I don't know if it's anything significant, probably more so for swords and armor than the other items I guess.)

I was just wondering because there's a special vendor that
Spoiler: | buys trophies at full price, he's here |
but to answer my own question, looks like the same dude buys the mutagens too at the best rate. Also bolts, which no vendor seems to want. Useless crap anyway so might as well sell it.
