I'm in need for monitor which main use will be graphics design. My budget is up to 1000 euros. I have googled a little bit and all these places mainly recommend apple monitor, but it uses thunderbolt so i'm not sure if it will work on pc. Is there better option with similar or better specs out there?

Eizo CX241 - best 24'' graphics monitor under 1000€
LG 31MU97 - best value 4k 10-bit wide gamut IPS
HP Dreamcolor - z24x, z27x, z32x - offer good price/performance ratio but have less uniformity than the more expensive Eizo color monitors.

the question is do you need a wide gamut monitor, or does working in sRGB colorspace suffice?
if its the latter there are countless options and with that budget I'd go for a big panel with high resolution (e.g. BL3201PT)

All the sites recommending the Apple are clearly sites you need to avoid because they haven't got a clue.

Apple sells the same panel as Dell use in the U2711 with worse calibration at twice the price. Apple's monitors are the last ones you should consider. Thunderbolt would work fine though, it uses DisplayPort signals.

yes apple thunderbolt display is using ancient LG panel same as in Dell U2711 as werelds said, there have been YEARS of new iterations to that panel and it's vastly superior now. avoid these sites that recommend apple thunderbolt like plague, as they have no idea what they are talking about. sites like these don't use any science, research or logic for their recommendations. their only "reason" for recommendations is apple = automatically good.

From what I know about monitors Eizo is the brand that produces the top quality professional monitors (which is why they are pretty expensive).

maybe if you work for some multi million Hollywood movie studio, i guess. for regular graphic design Dell U2715H is perfectly fine. heck, for the price of that small Eizo he can buy 2 U2715H monitors and be even more productive at his work.

Agree with that.

Thanks everyone, the monitor will be used mainly for print design(books, banners etc.). Work is done in adobe RBG CMYK color space. Sinse the monitor is for my sister i'm not sure what this means exactly compared to sRBG, i guess i need wide gamut monitor then?

Got a HP2475W, wide gamut, IPS. it's really nice. I googled them and they're still available at least here (Sweden), costs next to nothing now, when i bought it a few years ago it was really expensive.

review: http://www.trustedreviews.com/HP-LP2475w---24in-H-IPS-Display-review

And yes for printing wide gamut would be the choice, if i don't recall totaly wrong..

HP 2475W and LP2480zx, oldies but goodies, yes if you can still get it for cheap somewhere its a very good option.
Other than that, the HP z27x is a bit of an insider tip - if you manage to get the right one.
First of all, some models got A-TW polarizer (ips glow free), like the CX241 but way cheaper.
The one reviewed on prad.de is glow free, the one reviewed on overclockers.ru has glow, so there must be different models out there.
It also allows to reprogram hardware LUT via XML scripts, rather inconvenient but allows for some deeper changes that otherwise only very expensive monitors support.
Other well reviewed less costly wide-gamut monitors I haven't mentioned yet are the ViewSonic VP2772 and LG 27MB85Z-B.
From NEC there is also the overpriced PA242W, PA272W and PA322UHD. Only the 32'' is glow free and can also do 1080p@120hz but it costs more than twice as much as the LG 31MU97. So forget NEC.
