... so I have a Citreon C4 VTR+ being sold.

Got a call just now from a guy. Asked the right questions, everything seemed fine. Then my spidey senses started to tingle, when the guy said he was 200 miles away.

The car is in need of an MOT, but the guy says he'll be taking it away. Now I know he could take it to a garage for a same day MOT, but he won't be here till 3:30pm, and I find that very odd. There was no mention of a trailer or being towed.

Last thing is he mentioned using diesel to get here, which implies driving up here. Given that he said it would be him or his wife, and he said someone would be coming along, I can only assume he'll be driving the car back.

What you guys think? He say he'll be paying in cash, so no paypal or cheques, so there should be little risk to me. He already said he'll take it sold as seen, which immediately raises my suspicions, we've agreed on a price, and I will not be haggling any further. I'm just highly suspicious of people who seem too good to be true.

Hell, if he's paying in cash up front then I don't really see what kind of issue there'd be. Make sure you're not alone when you do the sale, I guess.

meet them with someone as backup
I've driven 200km to buy a car, last month a friend of mine drove 400km one way!!, and 400km back with both cars..
he can take a chance of driving it without MOT, but after you got the contract and money, it's none of your business, but you could remind him
and he might be buying it for spare parts, or for a project, so he doesn't care most of the condition

This Laughing

But seriously, 200 miles isn't really that much. I've driven to Norway once and bought a car, and that was way more than 200 miles Very Happy If he pays cash, there's nothing for you to lose on this.

lol my thought too. It is a pretty good car mind, VTR+ 2.0 diesel turbo, goes like the proverbial shit.

Yeah I'm probably stressing over nothing, but my house move is depending on this going down - I want my country home lol.

Well after all that the guy didn't show Evil or Very Mad

However, another guy I know from his Yodel van is interested and will be visiting tomorrow, so that's not so bad Laughing
