Anyone else finds wilderness dull compared to W2? Trees looks cartoony with overexaggerated wind effect, and pale in size and magnificence of Flotsam forest, and it's also lacking attention to detail present in previous game where you had streams, ridges, path and waterfalls packed into a smaller, but better looking place.
I guess it's logical from open world design, but I also find it lacking compared to the one in Syrim that uses the same tree technology. It feels as if they went too much with the size of the world itself and left it barren.

Even Flotsam was very linear IMO, sometimes it felt like a maze with those pathways. As for Skyrim, Bethesda always sucks in creating believeable worlds IMO.

Yeah earlier tonight I was looking back on screens and videos of TW2 and the wilderness was definitely more impressive. But the zones were so small everything was probably hand-placed. The water in TW2 was also way more realistic looking than TW3's blue oil.

can you give me some tips how to do that ? i want to buy it, but 50+ euro is way to much . |
I am normally pirating almost every game, but this one I bought today after playing the downloaded version for two days...I wanted to have the package (instead of digital distribution), so for 44,95 euro it was fair, I think.
I have to admit, I often use the "I hate DRM"-excuse for pirating stuff, but if there is only one game you should buy this year even as a "pirate"and ARPG-fan, its Witcher III.
No Rockstar-social-club, no steam, no origin, no Denuvo, runs flawless on my old rig, its fun, looks great and has a long playtime.
just my two cents...

I like it tbh. Just like in TW1 you're strapped for cash early on so every junk you find matters to make ends meet. I'm sure half-way through money becomes meaningless again.

@4treyu Did the same way with Novigrad, did 1-2 things in Velen and then wanted to explore the bigger cities first. About the pass:
Spoiler: | His brother in law died while doing the sidequest to lower the price, then I chose to lie and get the pass for 100 crowns, it gave him the cash but I never got the pass and when telling him about his brother in law, he tells you to fuck off the deal is done
After I freed the guy close to the black market buddy I could sell stuff enough to afford the 100 crowns and skipped helping him out (good ol previous save cheatery) |
Not to mention the merchants and smiths in Novigrad pay a much better coin for your stuff. The Crossroads settlement was great for selling pelts like bears, horses and so on opposed to as in the city, I'm sure people will find out about better places soon.
What really immersed me was this: about the Bloody Baron (only read if you got past looking for the Agent Henrik (or w.e.)):
Spoiler: | I killed the men of the bloody baron in the small settlement since they were being assholes, I avoided the fight in the tavern and continued with the quest, then outside I started beating them up and killing them all, they warned me about the baron but I thought, meh.
Then later when heading to the Baron two guys attacked me in front of the castle and I had to find in another way and he told me he knew I killed his men there, just wow! |

One thing about dialogues - I wish actors they picked would record their lines watching the game. Now they speak normaly instead of shouting, of breathing heavily and so on...
And - is there a way to interupt dialogue with one click? Not with double space?
