This game is amazing, been playing for five hours straight now and it just becomes more and more captivating. You have to Level Up quite a bit though since enemies are fairly hard even in the beginning of the game, but i like a challenge so that´s just good. The Final Fantasy XII Demo was great too even tough it only was about 30 minutes long.

It´s only for Ps2 since Square-Enix doesn´t make games for Xbox.

If you press the start button you can talk to your party, they will "remind" you of what to do next. Other than that, no questlog...
This is a great game and I'm really surprised of how good the voiceover and music is! And a lot of good humor too.
There are some things that annoy me with this game..
Why did it take sooo long before I got the world-map?! There are too few hints in the game also. I've made the thief-key but I still find chests I cannot open?
Battles could be a lot better. Why the hell is it so hard to gain MP?! Is resting in a INN the only way?

Yeah i knew that.. and thanks for the help btw, i got a quest off a guy to find his toolbox (near a tree or something) as you say.. i should do the quests as and when i get them
bit lost atm.. supposed to be finding some guy at a checkpoint.. been told to go south and thats it!! anyway its a great game and deserves to be bought imo
i agree with your comments about the music and humour.. both fantastic!!
Yes i did wonder about mana.. i rarely use it and keep it for when im nearly dead.. i assumed there would be mana potions to buy...... cant we rest outside of towns?

this game is really nice and a bit tough but thankfully not nearly as tough as shin megami tensei: nocturne, thats by far the hardest rpg i ever played.

Nocturne is easier once you´ve killed that Matador boss and Transfigured strong demons.

Im gonna guess that the Final Fantasy XII Demo that was included with this comes with a seperate disc, right? I couldn't find it anywhere when starting Dragon Quest.

so you would prefer full in-game voice acting, lets see, that would take around 7 years to develop the game, and it would span atleast 4-5 dvds.
I remember shenmue 1 wowed me back then, every single character u meet in the game had a voice, and u could talk about so many different things to so many characters.
well that was also the reason why the game, while having a really small world, needed 3 discs. i m very sure without the voices the game would easily fit on one disc only.
now, for a comparison, in shenmue 2 they used voices only in cutscenes and certain events, as a result the first 3 discs of it featured a world atleast 5 times the size of shenmue 1 - go figure...

bioware games dont have the size of a full nippon rpg like ff or dq.
imagine giving every shitty little npc in ff6 or 7 a voice, that d be a damn fucking lot of voice acting.
