I can actually confirm this, or rather... after 8 hours of *zero* crashes since setting framerate lock to "unlimited" I *think* I can confirm it

I'd like to know this too. It seems convoluted for something so simple. |
Yup, likewise, because it seems like "starter cards = fail", especially when later players bring out fucking 10 point Letho >_>

I hope you can do this too, but I've not seen any way to do it yet Seems strange, immersion breaking to be honest. You can cook meat in Arcania, ffs

The very first blacksmith in the game, the dwarf, can craft it for you once you've cleared his quest at the forge. That's where I got my viper swords.

Why do you bother, Paul? He's worse than derp#DERPIA, if that was even possible, and you gain absolutely nothing from wasting your time trying to hammer anything into the dense mass of his skull. Just a thoroughly pointless individual.

Nice! holy shit, those should help immensely! I had actually rebound ALT to my thumb button on the mouse, but double-taps *and* fall mitigation should really come in handy. Thanks !

Rolling is only needed for enemies with large attacks
Even in groups of... say 5 drowners or dogs, it's pretty easy to dodge them after a while. When I first started I sucked at fighting groups, but if you use igni every now and then it holds them back pretty well while you attack 2-3 at a time. |
Thing is, I'm way over the point of "just starting". I'm also playing on the highest difficulty.
And when 5 drowner come charging at me I'll be dead if I use dodge instead of rolling.

Well then it's working as intended after all. Except that it's stupid that using the "wrong" sword deals 0 damage, it would make more sense to be half or a quarter, but not 0. |
My bad!
I meant 0 damage with the steel sword, while game not letting me use the silver sword in fight.
Anyhow, game needs a bit more... polish.

No the dwarf is an Armorsmith, not a Weaponsmith. Once you have the plan and mats, the first Weaponsmith I found was at Nilfgaardian Garisson/Outpost (NW).

I keep having freezes from time to time, around 5 yesterdy (in 6 hours). Game freeze but I keep hearing the game sound, and the sound it makes when I press key, like if I could still controls Gerald but only the image and frozen. Need to ctrl-shift-delete that and start it again.
Anyone else ?
And also, I dunno if you guys knew, but holding attack while on the horse lets you enter a slowmo mode, making it easier to aim your blows

Found quite nice sweetfx preset:
http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/3712/ -> gets rid of the yellow tint in game
Only problem is, it's not compatible with latest ReShade + SweetFX package (1.18.4), and one needs to manually modify values from custom preset into the main .cfg.

Good to know, since he really is quite sensitive to fall damage
Yesterday I had a little scare moment in GTA, because I jumped off a high wall... all thanks to Geralt xD

@ZezoS
It's a shame there's so little interaction with the world as a whole, you may blow over some fences with Aard ("nVidia! DestructWorks!") and it looks cool to see red barrel explosions, but there's so little reactivity everywhere else. You see enormous hay bales and Igni, or explosions, don't affect them at all. You could set leaves on fire with Igni in the "reveal" trailers, now you barely leave any embers behind.

this wrist breaking kb gaming seems so comfortable |
Please!
Playing Guild Wars 2 and WoW with tons of combos of key configs (Shift + F, ALT + directional key, SHIFT + 3/G etc. etc.) made Witcher 3 to look like a baby when it comes to kb control "complexity".
But, of course, some people will stress too much their brain if they are forced to push more than 6 buttons and move a stick.

Plaza release is larger but has six languages, the bonus content (artwork, map, soundtrack, etc), and the two lame DLC packs - hair / beards and armor. It's version 1.0.2 or whatever it is... ends in 2.

When you do PvP or do a dungeon in Guild Wars 2, while timing being important, it's a bit "more" than a MMO "classic" rotation.
But, of course, you already know that.

What do previous cards prove again? I had 3dfx voodoo 1/2/3. S3 virge. Matrox something. Ati 9600xt or whatever it was called back then. 4850 and since then only NVIDIA. This proves we're both unbiased amirite?
PS : yes you are biased and no need for insults, just reinforces my point even more. Insults = you already lost your argument if you ever had one in the first place.
PPS : many people keep telling you that they can clearly see you're biased whenever someone brings up AMD and NVIDIA, i barely even bother replying in discussions with you over this subject anymore cause it's pointless |
If I had an AMD bias I'd be on AMD now and would've been on AMD at *some* point in the last 3 years. I haven't. And in my case my history does mean something, since you claim I have an AMD/ATI bias, yet my history shows that not even a third of the cards I've owned have been ATI or AMD. And no, it's not different on the CPU front as my only AMD CPU ever was an Athlon XP 2000+. The only two people who tell me I have a bias are you and rgb#000. And clearly you guys aren't biased at all
But hey, don't take my word for the tessellation samples, just open your eyes and look at the comparison: http://i.imgur.com/2wyxv90.jpg - everyone else take note of this too, if there's actually a way to drop the tessellation count for Nvidia too, do it. You're not gonna notice it in the visuals, you will in performance.
Note how little the difference is from 8 to 16 samples already; let alone above 16 samples. Again, if you had any clue how tessellation works and what it does, you'd understand that it reaches a point where more samples simply isn't worth it anymore just like with MSAA. On bigger geometry is where higher sample counts may still have a visible effect, but on tiny geometry such as this? No. Just not technically possible, diminishing returns and all that.
Areius wrote: | Don't get me started on the 8800GT, what a shit card that was. After 2 more replacements under warranty I was finally allowed to moved over to the red side again |
Oh the card and chip were great, just unreliable as shit because of Nvidia's shitty material choice. That cost them a lot of money too, their revenue dropped by a billion for two years after that
When I went back with my second one the shop (Paradigit) offered me a 9800 GTX+ at no charge as a replacement, since that had a better track record

Is your GPU OCed by any chance? I had freezes like this so I reduced a bit my OC, increased voltage and power limit and so far I haven't seen them yet. What's interesting, I could run unengine benchmarks on loop without freezes and crashes having the same GPU load but W3 seems to be somewhat...."sensitive" when it comes to GPU ocing
