It's been loud before, like when I'd play GTAV, but now with TW3 it's unbearable. Even with headphones on I can hear its bullshit.

I was talking to Leo a while ago and he suggested this:

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_510&products_id=23141

But how much of a difference would it really make?

I can't seem to control the fan via software or the bios. It only ever hits 45 or so, so I wouldn't mind if it got a bit hotter if it meant it was quieter, but the way it lets you control it is locked (there's no option to reduce the fan speed, only increase it).

The sound it makes trumps both GPU fans @ 100%. It's incredible.

Just wow.

And there I always thought those solutions were quieter than standart air cooling.

My Macho is absolutely quiet even at 4.5Ghz OC.

Leo's solution seems the best you can go really. Those Noctuas are famed for their silence.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I have my computer full of noctua fans and i can tell you that they are the best fans, sure they are expensive, but the noise is so low if you configure them right and even at higher rpm the noise doesn't hurt your ears, its just like louder wind humm.

Noctua fans max out at 1500rpm or so anyway i think(the brown color ones). And their cooling ability is also very good.

When i built my computer i wanted to make sure that i don't even hear it. The only thing i do hear is closed loop pump starting up when i turn on computer and after that nothing, even when gaming at max settings.

To configure your fans just look what fan socket your motherboard has, is it 3pin or 4pin ones and buy accordingly to that. 3pin works via voltage regulation and 4 pin has speedcontrol build in, you can configure 4pin ones more precise. Noctua has fans for both.

AIOs are anything but silent (they have MORE moving parts), nor they are very efficient. Only biggest and most expensive AIOs can rival good air coolers like Noctua NH-D15. single fan AIO coolers are rather shitty.

Use Corsair Link Software to control the fan speed, H80i has great fan (its basically higher RPM SP120 fan which is very good for rads but can be very noisy if its on automatic). Put it like 1150rpm like the silent edition SP120 has, might be little higher temps on CPU but should be fine.

All I did was plug them out of the H80i and straight into the MB, they seem to work perfectly now, 1200RPM rather than 2500 (in and out of games)

Are you talking about this connection?

 Spoiler:

Unplug from that and plug into mobo?!

Idk if i should put them on lower RPM, CPU getting to 60 as it is already, summer times will be around 65.

Edit, wtf, i just noticed that side cable being unplugged?! wtf was that for?!

Sad

idk what's causing it, case is good, airflow is perfect, and dust isn't the cause since i've been having those temps since day 1

Btw that cable that's disconnected on the left, what was that for again?!

I told you those things were loud, but you wouldn't listen Mad
There is nothing wrong with the system, but the fans themselves have this loud "buzz" to them when they go fast.
I have them set up with a profile through BIOS settings as well since I also had issues with controlling them through Corsair software. Thankfully MSI have really nice fan control options.

On the left side of H100i/H80i block is the USB connector which you need to put to mobo directly (USB header), without that Corsair link wont work.

Now that you mentioned it, I remember messing with it and to be honest I might even have it working now and just forgot I fixed it Very Happy
I haven't touched it in months... Should check it when I get home.

Did these register edits:

And after reboot it suddenly showed that i needed to update the firmware of the h100i, so i did. But still nothing showing up in link itself after that :\

And after a reboot, it now suddenly shows as "unknown usb device" Laughing
Pathetic for that price.. Thinking of returning it, even after all this time.

Yep. Been reading about that on Corsair forums, it's scary as fuck.

I was thinking about getting Corsair Commander Mini but software looks like one big ass clusterfuck with no QA at all.

Yeah it's broken, like MANY others before me... http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=141913

I guess i'm going to force the reseller here to just give me another brand, as the same issue is most likely to be repeated.
